After spending days stripping walls, I was really really fed up and couldn’t face doing ceilings too (and didn’t think I could stand on a ladder for hours with my hands above my head picking at paper). They weren’t as textured and thick emulsion paint would probably help tone it down (who looks at ceilings anyway). However, I couldn’t help testing a bit in the small bedroom. As it’s a box room, it didn’t seem like as big a job, and did start coming off in a single sheet (yesssss)! However, pulling this off easily was a short lived bonus, it tore a hole in the ceiling. 😭 I assume the plaster has never been changed and was weak. Being inexperienced, a hole in a ceiling was extremely worrying, would the roof fall down A friend having a house renovated advised it was easily fixable but would cost. This gave me some consolation but completely put me off attempting other ceilings. I would have to live with them as they are! #strippingwallpaper #houserenovation #ceiling #fail
This is the ceiling of the under rated Soul Curry restaurant at the Soma Vineyard. Made an off-season trip, yea, but at least we saved a thousand grapes from being slaughtered. The Sula winery tour followed by a sumptuous meal at Soma is THE way to do it, if you haven't yet. Soak in the fresh air and watching the green landscape. Stop at random places to get the perfect pictures. .
Only alas, two monkeys missing @desiclan and @tangosierra91 .

From 2011 through 2013 I had the amazing opportunity to design and integrate a #yachting #interior #technology package. Throughout the 3K sq ft interior were 16 #motorized #pocket #doors, 32 blackout shades, 32 daylight shades, and hundreds of mini #LED lights in #white #leather #ceiling panels. •
The biggest thing that I remember about the project was how unprepared I was for the level of detail management I eventually stepped into. The miles of low voltage cable #management, circuit plotting, and careful notes guaranteed that successful integration remained at an optimized state of efficiency. •
The biggest takeaway after executing hundreds of customized home technology integration #projects in my career, was the feeling that we had to plan for redundancy. In a home you have capabilities with retrofitting, whereas on a #yacht it becomes much more of a challenge. A small example are #TV change outs. •
An example is when thinking back to being a young child and how console televisions were the rave for folks now in their 40’s and older. After console TV’s we had square tube TV sets. Those units fit into square cabinet spaces that we consider to be 4:3 aspect ratio configurations. What we have now are 16:9 and others that converted squares into rectangles. •
#Camera #system technology is another challenge. Ten years ago analog camera systems were widely popular. Now Cat-6 cable sends power and video signals over ethernet and are how technology is utilizing surveillance systems. •
A big thing to factor is how long the owner will plan on retaining possession of the #vessel If it is 5 years or longer then it may be advantageous to invest a little more cost into technology that is not offered at a discount because it has been on the market for sometime. •
When it comes to audio systems, Bluetooth integration for streaming is key due to mobility needed. Another factor is being able to group rooms together and control from one device if a control system such as #Crestron isn’t being provided for, #Sonos is a great option to consider.
