And the train keeps on rollin'! 🚂🚃🚃🚃 Thank you to everyone who has come through in any way! Whether you have put in work, pitched funds, or pitched materials, it all counts! Also, keep helping us spread the word by sharing and helping us find concrete, wood, rebar, piping, rock, cinderblock, and sand connects! We are truly working off community funding and support, and it is such an honor! This has been an incredible experience! I am so proud of all of the crew who has been working their asses off to make this happen! We have several ladies putting in some heavy work, as well as young teenagers!
That being said, have respect. If you haven't been pitching in, you don't belong down there. You need to get a green light from the crew before you can skate it. If the people building it can be patient, you definitely can. If we have women and children coming to mix cement, you can too. This is an amazing blessing to be able to teach and show people how to build this stuff, and anyone refusing to show, because they "don't want to work", is only shooting themselves in the foot. Everyone has an equal opportunity to be involved and be part of something that is bigger than themselves here. Come through, we need your support! This is in the heart of town for that reason. The project is under the intention of being everyone's, by everyone. Send us a DM for the next session.
Thank you again! Let's go!
Behind the scenes at sugar and cement 👀 Every product is hand mixed and hand poured, then once it has set overnight, sanded and painted with two coats of Farrow & Ball. That’s job done for the pots and stars, while coasters and placemats are sealed so you can put hot or wet stuff on them without leaving a mark.
