Happy Mother’s day to my superwoman, @cindyjackson246. This is a pic from this past Christmas, where I’m holding up handwritten lyrics from @nicholenordeman, to her song “I Am,” after my momma gave them to me on Christmas. (Thanks for doing this last year, Nichole!)
This song is special to the two of us in a way I can’t fully express. But, I have these lyrics, handwritten by my mom, in her perfect cursive, in purple glitter ink, which were mailed from my home here in Kentucky to Remuda Ranch in Arizona, in 2004, when I was there for 2 months, in treatment for my eating disorder. I’ve held onto her written lyrics all these years, because the message, and my momma’s handwriting, brings the best kind of tears to my eyes. I’m still working on how I want to frame mom’s pages together with these, but rest assured, they will be displayed in a special way, in a special place in this house.
I can’t say enough good things about my mom, because IG doesn’t give me enough characters, but she’s been my rock more times than I can count, she’s been an example of someone who holds fast to her faith, regardless of circumstance, she’s hands down the best person to sing Broadway show tunes with (the absolute BEST when it’s all three of us, @katjacksondixon!), she comes through on a daily basis in ways most mothers don’t have to for their 29 year-old married daughters, but since Rog works during the day she often takes the role of caregiver (she’s had practice since I was a baby, and she’s not stopped yet) and handling those caregiving duties I need during the day. I love spending time with her, I love having deep conversations and belly laughs. And, by the way, she never fails to make me laugh–even if I’m just remembering something from years ago, I’ll call her in hysterical tears of laughter to tell her I was thinking of what she did. I feel like this is a very scattered, messy tribute to a mom who deserves so much more, especially from her daughter who has an English degree, but Lyme brain and fatigue are both very, very real and are making themselves known greatly today.
Happy Mother’s day, momma. I love you.
Happy Mother's Day to the most loving and strongest woman I know. I love you so much mom ❤️😘. Words can't describe the amount of love that I have for my mother. She's been there for me through thick and thin. She'll always be there when I'm happy and sad. I just hope that I can pay her back one day. My unconditional will always be reserved for her. I'll do anything just to make her happy. She kept pushing me to the right path until I graduated with my associates. She kept making sure that I was studying hard and she would stay up with me all night. In addition, she would make me green tea just to keep me awake. I just can't wait to graudate with my Bachelor's Degree just to prove to my mother that she did a wonderful job by raising me the right way❤️😘. If it wasn't for her, I probably wouldve been dead by now. She treats my friends as if they were her own kids. She always has candy for the kids whenever they come over. Her love and kindness is incredible. Again, happy mother's day mom. Hope you have a wonderful day ❤️😘. God bless you in the name of Jesus ❤️😘🙏✝️ #mymother #myqueen #christmas2017
