Do you ever feel like you don’t have enough time
I hear you - I’ve certainly been guilty of saying “I don’t have enough time!”
The truth is, you do have enough time, you’re likely just not actively controlling it.
Recently I took this on in a big way. And I realized something.
You have to be vigilant. You have to be 𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐑𝐂𝐄! You have to guard it like a mama bird caring for a nest full of babies.
Because people/emails/messages/texts/social media/gigs that take too much time for the money will always want to steal it.
Not saying “no” enough - but also not designing your teaching or your job/s to fit into the lifestyle you want.
Wow - did I just say that
Some of you might be getting triggered right now.
“How can she say I’m allowed to decide when I work and when I don’t I need MONEY!”
I GET IT. It doesn't always mean turning down work you get paid for. But when it does, it means opening up time for work you could get paid MORE for.
Guarding your time also means preserving and guarding your 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺.
You gotta get a little crafty.
Finding time here and there.
Deciding you actually don't 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 to reply to that request that was honestly ridiculous.
Actually saying "sorry, but that doesn't work for me" or "I'm taking a step back on that project for now as I regroup." Even if it's an energetic drain, it's taking up your energy for things you need it for.
You know the concept of paying yourself first
Everyone has heard it.
When you get your paycheck, if you pay bills first, buy groceries and do all the things that are being demanded of you NOW - when will you save
The concept is to save money - paying yourself first - before you spend everything.
The same is true for TIME
Make time for what’s important: a career pivot, a career-altering project, or even just carving out time out for yourself to spend with your family, read more or just for a break.
You deserve it- no one will give it to you except YOU
