In honor of my friend, @megangrayarts, I took a gloved hand painting shot. She recently posted about her newfound discovery of painting with gloves. I’ve been wearing them since @sharoncecilegold required them in my senior painting seminar at @su_vpa_schoolofart. I got used to them quickly and now feel paralyzed if I don’t have gloves at hand when I paint in oils. I don’t wear them with watercolor, not because of toxicity, but because I’m not as messy with my watercolors. The reason for gloves is to avoid impregnating pigments in your skin. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
I also typically have a plethora of brushes in my left hand so I can easily swap between sizes, shapes and color temperatures. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
The only downfall of this practice is the waste. Now if only a company could manufacture a barrier proof glove that would decompose. Does anyone know if this exists
On another note, I was happy with my session on this commissioned chihuahua today. .

Close up of another cute cat commission I did a while back😻
Very stoked on this wedding invitation that I designed and painted for a dear couple💕
I am accepting any and all commissions! Send me a message and we can chat about your idea(: P.s can anyone guess where this is
Happy Tuesday everyone! I’ve taken a few days out of the studio to refresh after my last few projects. Even after they leave me, my pieces seem to keep things interesting. Only HALF of ‘After Hours’ (sculpture in last post video) made it to its destination on time 😬 This particular sculpture has kept me on my toes since day one! I’m staying positive, as are the receivers and hope to have it displayed in one form or another at the charity event on Friday with the final version safely delivered to its future home. Whew. -
In other news, I’m finishing up a few smaller fun projects and have two s u p e r e x c i t i n g larger projects in the planning stages that I am just bursting at the seems to share with you guys. Check back soon🤗 -
In the meantime, I’ll leave The Pink Lady here for your viewing pleasure 💕🐴

Voila! 126 hands later and one of my favorite projects to date over at @sweepbalayagebar.
Kate Manz’s ‘Sweep’ is an all natural balayage bar, with hand-made dies and hand-crafted styles. So for this piece, I photographed Kate’s hands, created illustrations from the images, and then painted them over and over on the blush pink center wall. The repeated pattern mimics wallpaper and creates a subtle, yet alluring feel in the space.
And if that wasn’t enough, @castirondesign created fonts and a logo that were hand-painted on the store front itself by @_chaserbrown.
Sweep Balayage Bar is all-hands-everything and sources from local artists, contractors, and designers. That spot is all around delicious. Go getcho hair did.
