There is a lot of messages out there saying that we are in complete control of our emotions and reactions and the ways we see reality. As appealing it is, it's also not true.

Not at first at least and not all the time. We can train ourselves to be more independent. But there are still many aspects of our lives in which we go on automatic mode.

Culture, society, social group all have means to program us to behave and think in a certain way. And it's not bad. Us conforming to the ways our societies work is vital for the survival and cohesion of the societies.

Same goes to companies. If people adopt the company's vision it has a much better chance of being successful.

There is nothing wrong in thinking like others but we need to do it consciously and tondo that we need to be self aware.

The 3 Essential #Mindsets an #Entrepreneur Needs to Succeed

1. The 'this is the right direction' mindset.
The right direction mindset is necessary when decisions have to be made with time constraints. It is an especially important mindset at times of uncertainty, which for every entrepreneur we know, this happens a lot. This mindset works well when the team or company is smaller and you’re making decisions within your realm of expertise. You also need this mindset to take your vision from ideation to existence.

2. The 'no’ doesn’t mean ‘no,’ it just means ‘not now’ mindset.
First of all, you can’t take “no” personally. Getting rejected is part of the entrepreneurial journey and learning process.

Be careful not to get too carried away. No definitely does NOT mean yes or maybe. If you push too hard, you can alienate other people and sever relationships. When people say no that you give them some space and later ask them for feedback on why they said it if it wasn’t inherently obvious. Use questions like: “Why did you decide against purchasing our product or using our service?” and “What would make you or would’ve made you a yes?

3. The 'I was wrong' mindset.
It is one thing to strive for excellence; it is a completely other thing to never admit when you’re wrong. No one wants to work for someone who thinks they are perfect and never admits when they are wrong. It shows a strong sense of insecurity and lack of awareness. The worse thing about being wrong and not owning up to it is that it sets the wrong precedent internally. If you, as the leader, don’t admit when you’re wrong, then others internally may never do it either. This means people will not be growing from their mistakes. At times, small issues may snowball into even bigger concerns.

There are also positive outcomes to admitting when you’re wrong. For one, it shows a bit of vulnerability. It humanizes you. Also, owning your mistakes can be very powerful for #companyculture and getting help.

By adapting these mindsets, #founders can help scale their #business into a #successfulventure.

Employees are asked to select a customer name then purchase a toy inspired by what that customer makes or sells! It's always one of our favorite all-hands meetings and we love being able to give back to the community that surrounds us. 🎁🦄

If you saw the last post from the M/V Ambrie Dupre, here is the next view of New Orleans as the Ambrie was coming around Algiers Point...zoom in to see St Louis Cathedral in the center of the French Quarter ⛪️⚜️
And a little info for today for those out there in IG world that don’t know: New Orleans is called “The Crescent City” because of this point in the Mississippi River that forms a crescent 🌙 shape around the downtown/French Quarter area of the city. Because of the flow of the river, it created the only viable part of land at the point of discovery, on which the French Quarter was built. From the mariners point of view, this turn in the river can be not only exciting, but very difficult at certain times of year when the River is high and the currents are even stronger!
