Something we should all be careful about. "Company culture" and your "Work Environment" start with you, even if you are the only person working in your business for now. Let's measure how we talk to ourself and loved ones. 
We all know that people will only tell their side of the story, and few people are fair and just with how they present the offending party. The more and more we talk about all the people we seem to have a problem with, the more people may come to understand that we are the common factor in all those stories with similar endings. 
They might start seeing you as a problematic person to do business with. 
I personally find that people for whom harsh and unfair criticism comes easily, are people to be avoided.

This is very bad for a business environment and can absolutely destroy company culture. 
Teaching soft skills, emotional intelligence, assertiveness and how to always assume good intent, can do absolute wonders for any work environment, big or small. 
There's no point in branding yourself and a nice and friendly local or eco friendly business (etc) if your culture is toxic. It cheapens and damages your brand when it comes to posible business ventures and brand perception, when it comes to clients. 
People remember.

We all leave a #legacy whether we try to or not. 
Sometimes driven by ego (a need to be recognized/validated) or by heart (desire to serve others/make a difference). Or by both.

Perhaps your purpose is passing down values to your children. That is legacy too.

But if you have a vision that requires collaborative effort, and your goal is to make a significant change in the current global system, then having attention will aid to #influence. In this way, recognition is used as a force for good.

We are living in extraordinary times with stunning changes in social organisation. More new mothers are returning to the workforce than ever before. The number of working mothers in the UK has risen by a million in 20 years. Almost three-quarters of women with children are in full- or part-time work. Unsurprisingly, there is huge talent and therefore opportunity, sitting within this ever-growing pool of working mothers.

In coaching women before, during and after mat leave, we keep hearing the same story: woman is excelling in her career, woman leaves to have baby, woman comes back needing some time to transition, woman feels blocked and unsupported, woman leaves for new organisation with better #flexappeal, #genderequality, lower (or no) #genderpaygap and a more open-minded and exciting #companyculture. 
We know how much time and money organisations already invest in their top people, so it’s no surprise that employers are increasingly looking at new ways to avoid losing some of their best employees over a short-term slow-down when they have children.

Encouragingly, some of the more innovative companies are beginning to think long-term about how best to support and encourage women’s efforts, so the businesses themselves can build the successful, diverse, inspired workforces they will need for the future.
