1️⃣With this type of plank you can contract your CHEST more and easier than elbows plank 2️⃣ You can move your scapula and work on mobility 3️⃣ when you move your scapula, your lats are squeezing, so you are more compact 4️⃣ your legs are little bit more open that you HIP because you put power to close your legs to work on Glutes and adductors .

This variation of plank give you a different stimulate at your body with similar exercise➡️when you change something in one exercise you have to know that everything is changing➡️ HANDS PLANK is a very good variation because you can learn how squeeze very muscle 🔻HOW🔻

I am guilty of relying mainly on classes to get me stronger. I very rarely do stuff at home but last night, I was reminded that actually there are some things I need to work on - mainly lower abs and getting my shoulders used do doing more stuff.

HERNIATED DISCS! Let’s use the correct terminology please people... your discs don’t “slip” and your back hasn’t “gone” anywhere. Discs may bulge, dehydrate, the annulus (outer casing) may tear or they may fully herniate. Either way, the latest studies show that treatment through #physiotheraphy and an exercise plan like #pilates are as successful, if not more so than surgery in the majority of cases! This #mri is of my lower back, the disc bulge, annular tear and dehydration are the least of my worries if I keep my #core strong. Often people panic about #backpain particularly if you get nerve pain radiating to your hips or down your legs, but most of the time the worst thing you can do is stay still! The majority of us will suffer some sort of back pain and degeneration of the discs and it’s great to see the shift in the medical profession in dealing with this via Pilates not #painkillers. My #anatomy professor cheerfully reminded me that the  #spine is not evolved to last much past our mid 30’s really so we need to stay active and strong. #massagetherapy is also a fantastic tool in #recovery as I find muscle spasms left after an initial injury sometimes more troublesome to resolve and equally as painful if left untreated. A disc bulge will usually resolve in a few weeks but the surrounding tissue needs some tlc to recover too. It’s then a case of keeping your core strong, your #posture correct and your back stable with ongoing exercise.
