Did you know that simply breathing can be an amazing workout for your core My goal lately when I am working out is to slow down and focus on connecting my movement to my breath. With that being said, I had to edit this video to go 2x faster to fit on Instagram SO I was really moving twice as SLOW than what is shown! Grab a yoga block, dumbbell, Pilates ball or Magic Circle and try 10 reps of each of these moves for a quick little core workout. Remember to focus on your breath and using your core (not momentum or other body parts!) for each move:
- Seated straight leg twist (10x/leg)
- Seated straight leg twist, both legs up (10x/leg)
- Arm reach with toe tap (10x/leg)
- Arm/leg stretch to crunch
- Reach and crunch to toes
- Block pass between inner thighs (10x/leg)

I can’t stress enough how important it is to train your core to help prevent injury!
Don’t neglect it friends - I did and it lead me to a serious back injury and 9+ months without deadlifting or squatting ... I don’t want to go down that road again and you shouldn’t either! ❌
Here’s a quick and effective core workout you can add to the end of your workout or do on its own!
1. Bosu Ball Crunches x 20
2. Bosu Ball Pikes x 12
3. Weighted Straight Leg Jackknives x15
4. Box Stacking Crunches x 16
5. Starfish x 16
6. Plank x ASLAP

Change Up Your Squat Game With Frankenstein Squats🦵💥
So these are actually a great way to build up your abs as shifting the weight to the front with your arms out requires significant core engagement, trust me try it and you’ll see what I mean
If ur a beginner these can also help you perfect ur squat but go light to start out, or master the classic squat first (good form + decent weight) before moving to these
Like front squats these are very quad dominant so it’s important to balance out ur workouts with hamstring isolation exercises (e.g. ham curl)
And incase you guys wondered if I’d randomly got smaller, this is actually an old vid I found when trying to clean up my MacBook, will post up a few of the other squat variations I filmed at some point for you guys to try in the gym 👊

"Exercise Progressions - to get strong and stuff 💪🏻💃🏼.
There are a lot of super-wicked-awesome bodyweight exercises that are fantastic for developing strength (and your physique) but it can take time build the strength to perform them. Whenever I post these exercises I mention that you can choose a modification but don’t always show said modifications. Well, here they are (at least some of them)! -
🔺Pull-ups/chin-ups: negatives, banded pull-ups
🔺L-sits: bent knees, slightly extended legs, single leg
🔺Push-ups: incline, regular, decline (harder)
🔺Pikes: feet on ground, feet elevated
Choose a progression that’s appropriate for you, work on it consistently, and increase the difficulty when you’re ready 👊🏻. If you can do only a few reps, you can always do the max you’re able and switch to an easier modification to complete the set. E.g. you want to do sets of 10 push-ups but can do 4 with solid form. You can start with those and complete reps on an incline.
It’s remiss of me not to include negatives as a progression for pull-ups (holding your body weight at top and slowly lowering) but my sloppy fingers accidentally deleted that clip so its lost in the ether (sorry 😝). I have a dedicated pull-up progression vid I’ll link in my stories if that’s your goal 👌🏻.

This one primarily focuses on your core but we manage to hit a little bit of everything here with some yummy stretching thrown in for good measure.
Do each of the 4 exercises for 1 minute and you’ll be done in 4 minutes. Do it all 2x through for some extra core goodness and you’re done in 8 minutes.
Super efficient and effective!

I've been working alot on my grip strength, core strength and muscle control.
Just started these hanging, single, knee raises today. It felt pretty good.. felt like I had alot of control.
I think I was so focused on the core control and leg movements that I kinda forgot about the grip action and held on a little longer than I usually do! 😀
Getting stronger and gaining more control all the time. 💪🏼

Finallllly took a rest day so here’s a quick little Ab circuit from earlier in the week that you can add to the end of your next gym session 😊😊 I’ll admit that I’m THE WORST when it comes to taking days off from the gym. I’m obsessed with the results I see from lifting so convincing myself not to go is always a challenge, but this year I’m trying to take more rest days & remind myself that rest days are just as important (if not more) than training days. Rest days allow your muscles, nerves, bones & connective tissues time to rebuild (AKA come back bigger and stronger!) 💪🏼💪🏼 after being broken down during resistance training 🔑🔑🔑
