Today and I see these two cards, back to back facing opposite directions (the 6 of swords facing “the past” in my typical spreads and the creation card facing the future). This reversed six of swords tells us that we are avoiding the necessary changes that result from a difficult situation, coming after the five of swords which tells us to pick our battles and accept our losses, this card is a woman leaving the familiar and moving on to something new and unknown, though she takes some lessons from the 5 of swords with her. In reverse however she is resisting this change, and the lessons she carries are actually baggage, she is not seeing the benefit of her hardship or the benefit of moving in a new direction, she creates a friction with what is possible when she resist.
The creation card reminds us that we are fully capable of creating a new world for ourselves and it may come in unexpected way. It’s time to take stock of what we are capable of, collect our resources, save or time and energy and money because we just dream up a new path.
These cards combining let us know that if we resist these hard changes and refuse to learn the necessary lessons that they bring than we will miss our opportunity to create something we may have never imagined before. New possibilities begin as seeds in the mind. It is time to surrender what you have known and lean into the unknown with a radical faith that you have you never practiced before. Do not hold yourself back by clinging to what you consider to be safe, the changes will come whether you resist or not, and your ability to manifest and create during these changes is contingent on your ability to see possibility during dark times.
