What's in a name It may seem superficial, but it may also be an easy way of getting yourself moving on that project you’ve been dreading.
Today's Procrastinator Buster tip is to rename the task on your 'to do' list that's giving you grief. This is an easy way to reframe and lighten the heaviness that we can feel when procrastinating (I learnt this tip from Sam Bennett of The Organized Artist Company).
-You can rename it to make it a smaller or specific task. For example, changing 'write report' to 'draft report outline' makes the task appear more manageable and easier to start.
-You can rename the task to something that's more connected to the task's why or your bigger why (see Tip 1). For instance, 'Save for Bali trip' may be more enticing than 'Do taxes'.
-And if you're so inclined, change the task name to something light-hearted or fun, something that puts a smile on your face. The new name could be inspired by a metaphor or a word association with shapes, colour or feelings in relation to the task or finished output. It doesn't need to make sense. So "Write blog" could become "Painting rainbow giraffe spots." You could even take a leaf from Dr Seuss and swap the task you're procrastinating on to "Box a Gox in yellow Gox box socks" 😆. Anything to relieve a little bit of the dread you may be feeling and lift your spirits, so you're more inclined to get started on whatever you've been avoiding.
Although beware that you don't spend too much time trying to think up the perfect name in an effort to procrastinate even further 😆
Feel free to try this out and report back here.
Hump day is here, we can make it to the weekend (we'll just keep repeating that to ourselves 🙈)
We're smashing through our goals and deadlines for our clients this week, it's been full steam ahead, caffeine fuelled steam, of course 😂

*LIFE UPDATE TIME* 👏🏼👯♀️⠀
To begin....... I QUIT MY OFFICE JOB 🤪🎉⠀
Now don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t a full time 9-5 job. It was a two day a week job, but it still feels absolutely amazing to have the weight off my shoulders. Although the staff were lovely, the job was draining and was making me really unhappy. ⠀
Now I only work two short shifts a week in retail but the rest of my time is to work on my own biz!!! 👯♀️⠀
With that, I do start back at Uni next week and now with my lack of strict work shifts, I’ll have the freedom to study and work from home whenever I please (woooo!!). ⠀
This has always been my dream, as some days I’ll be on a roll with studying heaps but then have to drop everything and go to work for hours. Now I’ll have the flexibility to focus on my studies as much as I like, and I’m so happy about it ☺️😍⠀
Anyways, 2019 is looking like a killer of a year so far and I’m feeling more motivated than ever. ⠀
Let’s spread the gratitude around! 👏🏼⠀
Tell me something that’s happened / is happening that you’re grateful or excited for 🤩⠀
This photo was taken heading into the Virgo Full Moon earlier this week. It’s been a dreamy, pensive week, a prelude to grounding and stepping up.
I love this balance of sky, moon, plants and random toys found on the beach. Somehow it sums it all up

Besides painting and building my business I‘m obsessed with all things related to mindset.
I love to read about it. I love listening to podcasts or watching videos with mindset being the dominant topic. I love to think and talk about it. In fact, I could talk about mindset all day every day.
Because I‘m truly fascinated by how powerful our minds are. I mean, we can alter our reality by altering our thoughts and beliefs... how awesome is that!!!
Yesterday was spent completing the Old Town @treasuretrailsuk but we failed at the last hurdle and got it wrong 😱😔 This is the first Treasure Trail we have tried and we absolutely loved it!!!
Will definitely be ordering the one for the town we live in, and carrying on when we adventure to other places within the UK too.
Today we are off to @edinburghzoo and we have four very excited children amongst the tribe xx

An organised mess 😂 My workspace in Shanghai in full swing. .
Soon I will leave Shanghai and I have the task of packing up my whole workshop and somehow transporting it back to the UK...
grand case, alcohol ink on yupo, 9x12” [for sale] .
Grand Case is on the northern coast of #SXM. It is the gourmet capital of the Caribbean, serving only delicious #French food. From the beach, there is a beautiful view of #anguilla, the neighboring island. A part from its beautiful beach, and great food, there is a ton of history behind the small French town. Between 1770 and 1780 six sugar mills were established making it a main trading post the English and French. However from 1970 onwards, tourism has been its biggest push due to its pristine white sandy beaches, and historical architecture. If you’ve been to Grand Case can you see the resemblance #artiststatement
We’ve been prepping for all the brand photo shoots and production happening in March! Words can’t describe how excited I was when I hit the send button for the 4 designs we completed today. 🙃
While I’m working on brand shoots here in the Bay, Terrie is getting ready for the workshops lined up this month in Taiwan.
Now, we want to share more about branding through workshops, especially those who are not local, but I need your help. 🙏🏻
I want to make sure these workshops are as helpful as possible, and I would love to know what you guys want to know. 💁🏻♀️
Is it finding your brand colors Nailing your brand style Having a Instagram strategy that works Creating more ideas for your social media images Anything else on your mind
Here’s one we created for @becaliabotanicals with a delicate, elegant, and modern brand style.
Are you hearing a lot of people telling you to be ruthless about what you include in your brand Well, here I am encouraging you to do the same, but also acknowledging the fact that it's way harder than it sounds! I do have some solutions that have helped me though, and I'm happy to share in case they work for you too.
1. Separate yourself from your business. You don't have to fit every single part of your personality into your brand. In fact, your brand doesn't have to be a representation of your personality at all--it should be a representation of what connects best with your audience (though it's always fun to see the personality that IS present in your brand!!). Think about Karl Lagerfeld (may the genius rest in peace) being the creative director of Chanel. Chanel isn't a reflection of Karl Lagerfeld and everything that makes him up; it's way more specific than that. That said, your whole personality is amazing, and you should 100% find other ways to show it, even if it's not in your brand.
2. Don't say yes to projects that don't excite you. If you don't feel like they're bringing you closer to your goals, kindly decline. Of course, we all have to make a living, but don't let the "meh" things take up time you could be spending on the "HECK YES" things, you know (@annapeter_s taught me that!)
3. Separate hobbies from your profession. This was HUGE for me. I love painting, drawing, and calligraphy, but I've decided that those things are more of hobbies for me. If they happen to come through in my work, SCORE, but I've found that I prefer to focus on digital media, and that's okay! Hobbies are just as cool as work (lol, sometimes cooler).
Do you struggle with this too Or are you a pro at keeping things on brand in your business If so, please share more tips in the comments!
Thank you to @simplyadrilifestyle for this shot! <3

🌕✨ Oh hey, I heard you like some woo with your woo so I pulled a few tarot cards for you on the full moon 🔮🤩 Highlight: the real work is the inner work, #duh
I picked up my much-loved first ever tarot deck to do this reading, and the apparently equally much-loved Hermit card FLUNG itself in overly dramatic fashion out of the deck and into my face.
Ok. I get it. Do you get it
THE INNER WORK IS THE REAL WORK.
And a full moon is alllllllways a good time for those inner work vibes, hashtag woo-woo amiright
The supporting characters here, the Four of Cups and Nine of Wands Rx literally only support this message of DO THE INNER WORK AND YOU WILL SEE THE 'OUTER' BENEFITS IN TIME.
I'm sorry I'm shouting at you, but I kind feel like that's the vibe of this reading:
Take a hot minute to sit your cute lil butt down, ask yourself how you really want to feel, then ask yourself what YOU are doing by way of old habits, beliefs, and cultural conditioning to stand in your own way of feeling how you want to feel....and THEN cut the cords to that shit that is holding you back and you'll be one step closer to feeling how you want to feel which also ( #duh) means one step closer to having whatever you want to have in the outer/material world.
Aka THE INNER WORK IS THE REAL WORK.
And if you're like "but howwwwww" just spend a quiet minute and see what you come up with when you ask yourself "what is holding me back" and then imagine there's an energetic cord connecting you to whatever that is - person/place/habit/circumstance, and then imagine snip snip snipping through that cord and you. are. free. (That's the Archangel Michael protector and releaser of bad juju vibes mmmkay.) PS If you want a personalized reading like this on a specific Q or area of your life, hit up my DMs - still doing flash readings for $25 until the end of Feb at least! 🥳
My next read by @theeverywhereist - she was hilarious in person so hope she is equally ho ho in book form.
check out @ristbandz ! Steven and I both have one and they are very comfortable to wear..great for an easy motivational reminder! and of course fun to photograph 😎
