#meetthemaker Day 6, full time or part time Are you kidding
I was going to post something else yesterday but I had such a rotten day by the end of it that my post would have been very negative towards my full time passion which is this. Dealing with supplier screw up and shippers doing who knows what with my stock and products and out of line customers is the very worst of having your own business.
But after giving into meditation and letting that shit go, thank you teachers 🙏, I've learned to better deal with those days.
Creating anything all the time is just in my DNA. Starting Blu Pixie was out of a need to earn in a situation when the day job way of earning a paycheck wasn't in my cards years ago. And still not today because of health issues.
So yes it's a full time job, career, life path, passion, adventure, lover and paycheck. ❤️ #blupixie #fulltime #fashiondesigner #creativelife #artist #allornothing #mypassion
Renee AKA El Swatcho had lasers for eyes and robot arms for this one!! 🤪 Ps- I updated the Cosmetics section of my site! Go peep it!
Complete the sentence 🤗 : "I spy with my little eye..."
The process of making things is a funny, fickle and sometimes random thing. It's one of the parts I like the most which is funny cause it's pretty much only interesting to me. This board started out as something completely different, it's only part grey because of a weird communication error I had with my sister and it's name was supposed to go to a different painting but I mistakenly labeled this one instead. So it's kind of named after my dad but not really cause he didn't have to cut this one. Basically it's a lesson in the chaos that life deals us and how often that results in things turning out just right anyway. .

I believe that horses bring out the best in us. They judge us not by how we look, what we are wearing or how powerful or rich we are, they judge us in terms of sensitivity, consistency and patience. They demand standards of behaviour and levels of kindness that we as humans then strive to maintain.❤️ #meinwortzumfreitag #meinpferdmeinleben
There is a greenhouse in the garden of the family home on the Glenrinnes Estate. There Kathy grows various plants, fruits and even some chillies (all organically of course). It was rebuilt in 2012 with little touches of the original greenhouse, though it did end up a little bit taller. ⠀

Everywhere I look I see inspiring women doing incredible things in their lives and their work 💪🏻.
And it gives me hope that I’ve brought my daughter into a world that will one day recognise, welcome and celebrate the unique, powerful strength in the feminine 💃🏻.
A massive heartfelt thank you to @sisterscoutstudio for bringing together a room full of sweet, generous and supportive women for her event last night. And for opening my world up to people like @consciousgarment and @craftcoachinganddevelopment and @speakoutsocial and @uhhuhdigital
I have too many thoughts this International Women’s Day and (let’s be honest) still recovering from the prosecco so I’ll just say I hope you get to spend it with equally amazing women 💕
Getting this babe ready for #artflow 😍 This was my very first weaving, and it’s why I fell in love... #moondustweavings
hi hey hello, I made a page where I will be selling jewelry I make! @breezyhemp
I'm taking a different route, going off of etsy and just selling straight through to this platform. I feel better about this more direct approach, and I personally felt like etsy charged a lot to have a lot of listings, and also just keeping the listings. but, you'll see these babies over on my page 🌸☺ left to right, blue banded agate, rose quartz, red jasper, sodalite, angel aura, unakite 💐 the follow and support would mean the world to me.
love and light 🌌
Courage, vulnerability, strength, empathy, determination, dignity, sincerity, honesty, tenderness, elegance, beauty and love.
These are some of the words that instantly spring to mind when I think of the two creative and gentle souls I had the privilege of creating this image with.
What a perfect tribute to post on International Women's Day then....but no. These two women have nipples, therefore in 2019 I must deface my artwork to avoid horrifying people....who also have nipples.
When will this madness end
To all the women in my life, thank you for being you.
Day 7 of #miymarch19: These two hands.
These two hands are often cracked, dry, and unpolished.
These two hands insist on photos when that is not the case.
These two hands are fidgety, tapping out the rhythms of made-up songs and conversations.
These two hands are so bad a touch screens that they type posts on their laptop, email them to their phone, then copy and paste them into Instagram.
These two hands vaguely remember a typewriter's sticky keys.
These two hands can paint with a fine tip brush, hand letter, and deftly thread a needle. Inexplicably, though, neither of these hands can form the number three.
These two hands blow kisses and wipe tears and scrape splattered applesauce off the walls.
These two hands love deeply and restlessly. So these hands continue to create.

For international women’s day I instantly thought of my experience viewing these pieces by French-American artist Louise Bourgeois.
It was profound.
Women are everything.
| Coming soon to a chair near you..... |
I love these old peeling rocking chairs. I often wonder how many bottoms they have seen. LOL! All shapes and sizes. There is no barrier. Just like here, in my little virtual space, you are all unconditionally welcome. I have something new coming soon and I can’t wait to share it with you!
Warmest hugs on a very chilly day 🤗 Jen x

What do you guys think of “push presents”, a gift given to mom after a baby is born This M necklace is what Jon gifted me right after Miles was born. Typically with jewelry I have to give him a little hint at what I’d love, but for this he completely surprised me and it was one of the most meaningful gifts I’ve ever received. I wear it almost every single day. Comment with what you got or gave for a push present or your thoughts on the whole idea. 💝👶🎀
When I get a handwritten card in the mail, it brightens my day and makes me feel so appreciated and connected. I save all my cards to remind me of my love and connection to others. •
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE texting and all the other modern electronic ways we have to easily connect with eachother. But, there is still something so personal and special about a handwritten card. That's why I created the i care card collection! It's a card collection specifically designed for women to be intentional about their connections with others. •
For $8.50 (shipping included, link in bio), you get 5 of these cards (or other available variations) that you can use to tell someone they are seen, heard, supported, appreciated and loved. Or just to say THANK YOU for a kind gift or gesture. That's one thing I love about the 'you are amazing’ message - it is versatile and can be used to cheer someone on - or as a simple thank-you card. And who hasn't needed a thank-you card in the last year And, if you're going to buy a thank you card, you might as well buy it from an independent female-owned business that is specifically focused on women supporting women, rather than a big corporation! By buying from she bloomz, you can help us become the Drybar of the greeting card world - specializing in just simple cards to help women support women! 💕
Day 7: less glam side. I could do a whole month of posts on the less glam side of making like paperwork, ordering supplies, the spilled paint I have to clean off the carpet, taxes...Super not glam. Today I’m working on packing up earrings for @amazonhandmade to be fulfilled by @Amazon. Boxes, tissue paper, labels, pack it, ship it. Very operational and not glam and fun but it must be done.

No shortcuts! Take your time to do it right the first time. When you cut corners, you only cut yourself short from the real/full experience (and you'll end up having to go back to fix it anyways!) Remember to take your time and gather all the information before you proceed. Learn as you go and make the necessary improvements to perfect the design.
Do the right thing and you'll never go wrong.
