My portrait has a story to tell..
They say a picture holds a thousand words but I think they hold more when there’s a person in the frame. We carry stories. Every single one of us. Behind our eyes lie pages and pages of lessons learned and moments of sweet victory. Of joy and disappointment. Of love and heartbreak. When we’re broken and when we’re whole. At war and peace. The complexities of life is magical and healing when heard. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
No one can tell your story better than you. What is one word your portrait holds
A year since this one -- so much has happened in the meantime - and I am very glad for most of it. Most certainly glad to see my pals in Chicago every year. And get good bagels. Bagels and pals. Pals and bagels... Thanks again for @davekloc and @moonlightspeed for making this one a reality 🖤🖤🖤🖤

Is this what getting older looks like I hurt my wrist last year and I have been totally fine. Then yesterday morning, I pushed open my car door and “re injured” it Like what the heck guys! So I’ve been icing and immobilizing and trying to figure out my problem and how to fix it, but unfortunately my acute PT brain doesn’t remember ANY ortho PT 🤷🏼♀️ We are about to catch up on the last season of House of Cards. What are your thoughts I was not impressed by the first episode…

Artists can be torn between doing everything well or specializing. Previsual concept artist Joshua Kim talks about his position in the games and film industries and about finding what inspires you and following that. Sometimes keying in on a single style that you love leads to the job of your dreams!
Here's a quick excerpt:
Me: What would you say that an artist needs to have in their portfolio to stand out in today’s market
JK: It really depends on the field that you are going into, or the studio that you really want to get into, or the projects that you are interested in. You have to match the style. I think that’s the key word: match your focus.
For instance, Blizzard Entertainment: you would have to do a similar style as Diablo or whatever they were working on and show them you can do this type of work.
Because there are so many different types of styles and different designs out there. Say if you were doing something very different from Diablo, they won’t like it or pick it up.
You have to show them that you can work in their particular style.
Me: I think that saves you a lot of heartache, too. If you know what you like to do, you should find the companies that do what you like to do.
JK: Yes. Another thing I would like to say is that I had a friend who was doing really bad in school and he had this one style that he really liked. And he was really focusing on what he was doing, on what he enjoyed doing.
And now he is an art director at Blizzard.
Me: There you go!
JK: Yeah! So, he was just focusing on that style for years, and that is what he enjoyed the most. Whatever they were doing, that was his stuff, and he was the first to get referenced from Blizzard. They loved him. And now he’s an art director there!
But other studios weren’t interested in him because they weren’t into that style.

The person and the creator can't be separated. The songwriter in me will not be separate from the human I am, for art and real life can both be born from each other. You all are witnesses to whatever redeeming qualities I have, most of which have been learned from my experiences making and listening to music. I would not be the person I am without it. Kirk Lutes the musician and Kirk Lutes the human are a full circle relationship.

I’ve begun production on my first collection of handcrafted perfumes. •
I’ll launch with four fragrances, and so far I’ve made a first attempt at three of the four. •
They still need some tweaking, but I’m well on my way to putting my name on something in the world. •
One thing I’ve noticed is that the creative process is the same no matter the medium. •
I’ve created visual art, music, graphic design, culinary art, and fragrances. The media are different, but the process is the same. •
My goal is to always put something beautiful into the world. •
What do you like to create •

Let’s get serious for a minute...
Running a business is hard work. You know all those quotes out there about hard work never sleeps, and it takes a village... well it does.
This team right here is so incredible. I couldn’t do what I do without them. But I started out alone just like many of you. Wondering how I could do another 14 hour day. How I could take on another client when I was already so overbooked Or worse is the fear of where the next client might come from. I had a million questions about how others ran their businesses.
With some really helpful coaching, a super supportive husband, and daily courses I have been able to find a direction that makes sense for me. But that’s not for everyone of course! That’s why we make our packages custom and I talk to the clients one on one to help them navigate through what they will potentially face and help address their concerns.
This Thursday, July 25 our first webinar will be available for sign up on our website... And it’s all about finding your niche, defining your message, and building an audience around it. That’s the first step for any great brand to excel online, and I hope you will join me to discuss how your brand can stand out online in the first event of our Digital Impact series.
I know your struggles... and I’m excited to help 💕 📷 @amandagreerphoto
Asheville is so magical. I feel like I'm stepping into a new world everytime I explore a new place here. 😍
Found a new hike spot not far from my house today and I noticed I was smiling ear to ear the whole time. It's also 68 degrees today. Just so in love with this place.
P.S. #linkinbio for custom collage commissions
The process of evolving creatively is magical, scary and so vulnerable. It took me a long time to figure out “my style” on this space and to be honest I feel like I’m still figuring it out. Something I’ve learned a long the way is that our creativity is an expression of who we..and it can never be right or wrong. It just is. Just as we are. Uniquely beautiful as God intended and ever evolving. ✨ Our confidence in front of the camera/ behind the camera, our editing style – it’s about trying new things, putting it out there, hating it, changing it up, learning, & evolving. ❤️ Ride out the insecurities, the creative blocks, & keep doing what sets your soul On👏🏼 Fire👏🏼🔥 #doitfortheprocess
I find myself humming a lot, so I created this piece around the bija seed syllable for the throat chakra! A bija seed syllable is a Sanskrit word that conveys energy, and doesn’t have a defineable meaning. It is written as Ham, but pronounced “hum.” My throat chakra is definitely something I have worked on strengthening a lot. Working with my teacher, @LianaShanti, has helped me set boundaries, love myself deeper, and learn that it’s ok to take up space and use my voice.
My throat chakra started strengthening when I started setting boundaries around food, my time, my family and friend relationships and work. Then I started writing several years ago, which helped me start finding my authentic voice. Now I’ve started working more with my musical voice and finding expression through that.
Strengthening my throat chakra has helped so much, because I feel safer being who I am. I am willing to speak up for myself and my truth. I don’t feel the need to lie or hide things anymore. My throat chakra feels so much more powerful now, so I will continue humming along! ~Aaralyn
“Patchwork Face.” I am someone who pays attention to detail. I love bringing out the raw beauty in ordinary items that are often invisible to others. My passion is to see these materials in a way no one else does and to bring out the very best in them. Cheers to the abandoned wood, metal, pull tabs, washers, wire and nails. You are amazing and you remind us that beauty can be found in everything!
working through splatter bouquets because perfection is overrated and mess is interesting ✌🏻
Makers gonna make. And self doubt. And give up. And keep going. That’s why it’s called a process, don’t rush it. 💫
