Woodstock: The Director’s Cut//1994//dir. Michael Wadley
DAVID CROSBY: REMEMBER MY NAME blindsided me. I’ve never been a particular Byrds/CSN(Y) devote, yet I found his story extraordinarily moving. Crosby makes Keith Richards look like the picture of health. He has eight stents in his heart (the max) and he fully expects a heart attack to kill him at any time. Yet he still must go out on tour to pay the bills. Speaking to producer Cameron Crowe, Crosby is irascible yet candid about his failings, especially his tendency to lose friends and alienate people. Relations with all his former famous bandmates are so fraught, none of them will talk to him. It’s heartening to see him thank Stills and Nash at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction for standing by him through his trials, then its painful to hear CSN croak their way through “Silent Night” at the National Christmas Tree Lighting in 2015. Their hearts weren’t in it. If that is to be the trio’s last performance, that will be a great shame. This becomes a movie about losing time, about trying to come to terms with your failings when you’re nearer the end of your life than the beginning. Some may find Crosby disingenuous, and he himself says he has nothing to offer the world other than music. He’s mistaken. Through this documentary, he shows the universal value of trying to be a be better person, and recording the attempt. If you can’t or won’t reach closure with others, at least try to find it for yourself. #davidcrosby #davidcrosbyremembermyname #crosbystillsandnash #thebyrds #rockdocs #ajeaton #cameroncrowe
Our Record of the Week is the self-titled 1969 debut from supergroup Crosby, Stills and Nash. Featuring members of The Byrds, Buffalo Springfield and The Hollies, respectively, CSN reshaped the landscape of popular guitar music in the late 60's - moving from heavier blues and garage rock to a more laid-back sound; combining folk, country and even some jazz influences.
A classic album that has aged like a fine wine and still receives positive retrospective reviews to this day. Give it a spin!
Our 1972 pressing is in great shape, along with the gatefold sleeve and fold-out lyrics insert. £12.00

Secure attachment is the healthiest attachment a child can have, right
I often wonder, as a mother, if my husband and I are raising our son in a way that will help him grow securely attached to the both of us.
Just this morning, I found a pretty neat study that addressed attachment, and this was my main takeaway:
✨Harmony in marriage greatly increases your ability to raise securely attached children.✨
“An emotionally draining marriage will rob the parents of emotional availability and compromise the quality of parenting, whereas satisfying marriages will meet the parents' emotional and affectional needs and thereby enhance the parents' relationship with the child.”
So as Crosby, Stills and Nash would say,
LOVE THE ONE YOU’RE WITH🤟🏼

I remember hearing “Just a song before I go” on the radio as a kid, and I thought it felt so sad, and at the same time beautiful. As always the harmonies are exquisite, and I remember as a youth I didn’t know which voice to latch onto in order to sing it when it came on the radio, so I was all over the place. I have loved this song since it first came out and I was small. By the way, “Dark Star” isn’t one that was played on AM radio so I didn’t know about that one until later, but it’s a great song as well, but I have a special place in my memory for “Just a song” #crosbystillsandnash #70smusic #greatsong #acousticguitar #harmonies #stephenstills #davidcrosby #grahamnash #musiclegends
Jeff & Inger with Director, A.J. Eaton, who directed “Remember My Name” the recent documentary about @thedavidcrosby ‘s life (Produced by Cameron Crowe). If you haven’t seen this documentary, you will find a moving and authentic account of an artists’s existential struggle with mortality, friendship, love, fame, the music biz- and his own demons. As stated by a review in the Wall Street Journal:
“Why he’s still alive is partly the luck of the draw, as it is for all of us. Clearly, though, an essential part, even if he doesn’t cop to it under questioning, is what he has always done and still needs to do with his voice and fingers when his time is running short.” We all agree, our friend may be facing much of his life in all of it’s facets -very publicly- and at the same time (STILL TODAY) giving the world an incredible breadth of art that lends itself to reflection and depth, and we love and thank him for this, as well as his amazing wife Jan Crosby who has seen him through it all. ❤️ Grateful to A.J. @ajefilm - our highly intelligent & talented friend for sharing some of his experiences about the documentary and for giving life to this compelling story. #Remembermyname #davidcrosby #skytrails #band #ajeaton #cameroncrowe #jeffpevar #guitar #jeffpevarandingernova #singersongwriter #ingernovajorgensen #musicdocumentary #rockumentary #authenticity #film #cinema #csn #crosbystillsandnash #60s #70s #classicrockmusic
