Hello everyone! 🙋🏽♂️ I would like to take a moment to thank all the dancers I have worked with so far especially @androulla_xx and @eleanor_alyssa_ as they helped me to get started with dance photography 🤗💃📷 .
Considering I have only been doing this for about 3 months I am overwhelmed with the support that I have been given from dancers, photographers and friends 🙌🏽 .
Even with my lack of experience I am very grateful that so many of you are interested in working with me. Nottingham and Derby are the ideal locations for me but I am hoping to come to the likes of London, Liverpool, Leicester, Blackpool and more this summer. Depending on how long I will be in the cities I am thinking about doing public meet ups where dancers can come and meet me, we can go walk around the city taking photos in a group (individual shoots afterwards if wanted) 📷
I am trying to start up a project that involves dancers in urban/street and city/shop environments, I want my photos to have a story behind it and also where possible I want to use it as a way to raise awareness for a variety of different causes. On the side I am happy to do shoots which involves props and gadgets because I believe in being creative and experimenting (portraits included). The sky is the limit. 🎨😇 I have tagged some of you that I am hoping to work with this summer and those who I am interested in working with (I apologise if I missed anyone) 😬. I have also tagged some photographers below that are really amazing, they have helped me out in different ways to improve and progress faster: @ara_portrait_photography_ @birdypeacock @dance_photography_works
I have a big passion for dance even though I do not dance myself. I do some parkour and I can jump high that's about it 😂. My main priority is to make sure everyone has fun and has a good time 😀
I think some people get put off by the pricing, but I do not charge at all because I am not doing it for the money but for the passion #verycringeyiknow 😅😂.
If you want to work with me sometime this summer please comment below and also if you know anyone that will be interested tag them below too, free to DM me if you have any questions... 🤗

This is a work in progress that contains several excerpts from dance poems in the Dracula's Garden Series, including excerpts from "Slugs in the Cemetery" and other works. Using the Gothic realm as a vehicle, these dance poems explore constructions of monstrosity and of the grotesque. We find the uncanny and the sublime in the fringe and the Othered, re-imagining and re-interpreting the notion of 'the beautiful.' Alina Sotskova is the Artistic Director and Founder of Voirelia, a Dance, Psychology, and Philosophy Hub (voirelia.com). Through Voirelia, Alina works with dancers, scholars, and artists from variety of disciplines to create contemporary dance works focused on meaning, community, connection, and exploration of the depth of human experience and imagination. Voirelia also hosts interdisciplinary events on intersections between dance, psychology, philosophy, science, and art. Alina is a practicing psychologist. She continues to maintain an avid interest in philosophy, which continues to shape her work as a dance artist.
