🤷🏼‍♂️ Yogurt, frozen veggies, chickpeas, canned beans, granola, dark chocolate, Ezekial bread..... and wait for it (my favorite) Every gluten-free, keto, non-GMO zealots fountain of gut health youth elixir - KOMBUCHA TEA.... are all bad?.

First off, let's draw some context as to what the general uneducated consensus is around clean, VS dirty foods..
•
❌Clean: Organic, Unprocessed, Non-GMO, "whole", or the worst “hormonal”. Lolzzz.
•
❌Dirty: Processed, calorie dense, "sugary", fattening etc.....
•
The biggest problem here: the idea of "clean" has no objective definition in science.
•
✅ Bottom line: There is no evidence that any food will cause more fat gain than the excess calories it provides.
•
✅ There is also no evidence that eating a particular food will help you lose fat.
•
You can get fat, and unhealthy AF from eating excess chicken breasts and sweet potato’s.
•
The logic here is that caloric dense foods are easier to over-eat and make you fat.
•
Yes, this is true, but rather myopic, and assumes people are too dumb to learn for themselves proper nutrition principles.
•
You don't get extra credit, for eating extra micronutrients, and fiber....
•
More is not always better, in fact, excessive fiber can cause issues in and of itself.
•
Sugary foods?.
•
Research has shown that most people would have to eat roughly 20% of their total calories from refined sugar before it became impossible to meet their micronutrient needs.
•
That would mean if your consuming 2000 Kcals a day, you should try to stay under 100 grams of refined sugar a day.
•
You have to really eat/ drink like an A-Hole to make sugar the issue.
•
It will not happen because you fit in 25g from cereal, or ice cream in moderation.

You can do everything right Monday morning through Friday afternoon with tracking 📝, exercising 🏋️‍♀️, & staying consistent 🔄...

But(t🍑) you always end up blowing it Friday and Saturday night? 🍻😧🍕

You see, many-a-folk don't realize how easily a weekend of mindlessly drinking 🍺🤤 and overeating 😋🍣 can negatively affect their weight loss progress.

For example, let’s say a person who maintains their weight on 2300 calories sets a moderate 500-calorie daily deficit to lose weight...
⠀
They could be on point the entire week but then completely offset their hard work with just one and a half days of splurging!
⠀
Now… I’m NOT saying you can't, shan’t, or shouldn’t have fun on the weekend.
⠀
Just remember —> having too much “mindless fun" can quickly undo the hard work you're putting in Monday-Friday.

My Advice👇

Have fun on the weekend with your friends and family (because that’s what life is all about), but make sure you’re going in with some type of a plan, too 💪☺️

One thing that I tend to abuse in my training is INTENSITY. I would go super hard on the first 1-2 exercises and then my body would be fried towards the second half of the workout. I now try to monitor my intensity and regulate them rationally versus wanting to exert all of my energy right off the gate during a session. Train smarter not harder.

I now try to monitor my intensity and regulate them rationally versus wanting to exert all of my energy right off the gate during a session. Quinoa is a little bit higher protein & lower carb than brown rice, but almost identical in calories per 100g. 👯 Quinoa also has a bit more volume than brown rice (but doesn't personally keep me as full for as long as brown rice does).

So, yes, quinoa is higher in protein than its rice counterpart, but not THAT much more unless you are eating mass amounts of quinoa where the protein difference would actually add up!

WE DID IT - 20lbs LOST 🥳⁣⁣

As of today I weighed myself and I am 175lbs meaning we’ve hit our goal of losing 20lbs from 195lbs on the left to 175lbs on the right (the picture was actually a couple days ago but ya know🤷🏻‍♂️) in just over 7 weeks ⁣⁣

The main 2 challenges of losing the 20lbs👇🏻⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1) Not allowing myself to get upset when the scale didn’t tell me what I wanted. This cut I’ve been weighing myself every morning which I’ve never done before. However I wanted to change it up and do something different. It was a mental challenge as some days it wouldn’t go down or even go up so I had to be in control of my mind when that happened and teach myself not to be bothered by it. Which I have chatted a lot about on my stories. Weight fluctuates all the time so just stay consistent, trust the process and results will come. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2) Watching my strength decrease. Due to being in a caloric deficit your body just doesn’t have as much fuel or body weight behind it to push the weight it could before like in the picture on the left. You’ve just got to focus on maintaining your strength as much as possible but as you get deeper into a deficit over time strength does decrease, but this has only really been an issue the last 2-3 weeks. This doesn’t mean I’ve lost a ton of muscle it’s just my body simply does not have the fuel eg glycogen stores in the muscles and energy from calories to be as strong so once my calories and carbs go back up it’ll come back pretty quick. I’ve probably lost a bit of muscle but not much. I just kept telling myself once this cuts over I’ll be back stronger and looking better than ever.⁣⁣

But was it difficult to lose the weight and have a life? Nope. Still drinking, still going out, still going out for meals and being social. That’s the way I like to do it! I mean clearly the pints last night must’ve helped😂🍺 ⁣⁣

WE DID IT - 20lbs LOST 🥳⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ As of today I weighed myself and I am 175lbs meaning we’ve hit our goal of losing 20lbs from 195lbs on the left to 175lbs on the right (the picture was actually a couple days ago but ya know🤷🏻‍♂️) in just over 7 weeks ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The main 2 challenges of losing the 20lbs👇🏻⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 1) Not allowing myself to get upset when the scale didn’t tell me what I wanted. This cut I’ve been weighing myself every morning which I’ve never done before. However I wanted to change it up and do something different. It was a mental challenge as some days it wouldn’t go down or even go up so I had to be in control of my mind when that happened and teach myself not to be bothered by it. Which I have chatted a lot about on my stories. Weight fluctuates all the time so just stay consistent, trust the process and results will come. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 2) Watching my strength decrease. Due to being in a caloric deficit your body just doesn’t have as much fuel or body weight behind it to push the weight it could before like in the picture on the left. You’ve just got to focus on maintaining your strength as much as possible but as you get deeper into a deficit over time strength does decrease, but this has only really been an issue the last 2-3 weeks. This doesn’t mean I’ve lost a ton of muscle it’s just my body simply does not have the fuel eg glycogen stores in the muscles and energy from calories to be as strong so once my calories and carbs go back up it’ll come back pretty quick. I’ve probably lost a bit of muscle but not much. I just kept telling myself once this cuts over I’ll be back stronger and looking better than ever.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But was it difficult to lose the weight and have a life Nope. Still drinking, still going out, still going out for meals and being social. That’s the way I like to do it! It sure helps when it's Simple & Delicious too!

makes 1 serving / bowl

Ingredients for EACH bowl:
1 boneless, skinless chicken breast
2 cups shredded lettuce of choice 
1/3 cup black beans, drained and rinsed if using canned 
1/2 cup fresh pico de gallo
1/2 avocado, thinly sliced, and fresh lime squeezed all over it
1 Tbsp shredded cheese, optional 
1 green onion, sliced
lime wedges, for serving 
1 Tbsp Greek yogurt, for serving 
For the marinade:
1/2 Tbsp avocado oil, or olive oil
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
sea salt and freshly ground black pepper, to your taste

Instructions:
Place chicken together with the marinade ingredients in a small ziploc bag or glass bowl.
Rub marinade over chicken then seal bag while pressing the excess air out, or place a lid or plastic wrap over the bowl.
Transfer to the refrigerator and marinate at least 30 minutes or up to 6 hours. 
Preheat grill to medium-high heat. 
Carefully brush grill with a bit of avocado oil, or olive oil; don't burn yourself!

Place chicken on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side or until cooked through and no longer pink in the center (internal temperature has to reach 165 degrees). Allow chicken to rest for 8 minutes, then slice against the grain.

Assemble all salad ingredients nicely, as shown, in a large glass bowl or container.
Serve immediately, or seal tightly and store in the refrigerator for up to 3-5 days.
I prefer to add the avocado, & Greek yogurt right before eating.
