Here is my 2018 player grade and 2019 stat prediction for Cody Bellinger! What grade would you give Belli and what do you think his numbers will look like this upcoming season
Cody Bellinger struggled a bit throughout his sophomore campaign, but still managed to put together a solid year. He was able to stay healthy all season long, appearing in 162 games. He showcased a nice balance of power and speed, hitting 25 homeruns and stealing 14 bases. He was one of just 10 players to accomplish both stats. Up until about August, Bellinger’s season had looked like a sophomore slump, and he was hitting .236/.325/.451/.776. However, he was able to turn everything around with a five-RBI performance against the Brewers. For the remainder of the month, he was one of the hottest hitters in baseball, hitting .363/.410/.560/.970 with 4 homeruns and 19 RBI’s. In September, he cooled down a bit but heated right back up in the last week of the regular season, where he hit .350 with an OPS of 1.031 while helping push the Dodgers into a first place tie with the Rockies to end the regular season. Then, in game 163, he homered to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead, and they’d go on to win their 6th consecutive division title. Bellinger was also named NLCS MVP, making multiple big plays both offensively and defensively. As for what wrong went for Cody Bellinger in 2018, he saw a decrease in average, on-base percentage, and slugging percentage. Also, despite playing in 30 more games, he hit 14 less homeruns and had 21 less RBI’s. He wasn’t able to sustain his success against lefties from 2017, where he hit .271 against them, compared to .226 in 2018. And although Bellinger came up clutch a few times throughout the postseason, overall, he hit .115/.193/.192/.385. I expect Bellinger to put up slightly better numbers this upcoming season while staying healthy again and hopefully dropping the strikeout rate a little.

🔋🔋🔋 The Battery 🔋🔋🔋🗣🗣🔊🔊TAG YOUR CATCHER⬇️⬇️⬇️
Pitchers with season coming up it time to get with your catchers(and coaches if you can’t call pitches yet) and come up with a plan of how you like to attack hitters.
@nick.hanson was able to get in a ton of work this fall getting to receive several big league pitchers. Yes being able to receive plus stuff helps you become a better catcher but being able to talk and soak in the information from some guys that have pitched at a high level is what will make an impact. 💪@tamatzek (@dbacks) painting corners.
