If you've followed my work for some time, you know that I embrace the colors of the rainbow whole heartedly I had done this armoire/secretary in a rather subdued fashion, and it never really 'felt' completely right to me. I have redesigned it using all the energy and light I had inside. It's not for everyone, but hopefully someone needs this pop in their home.
Place in foyer or in a dining room...or even in a study- there’s a pull out secretarial drawer complete with writing surface and small storage compartments.
Used an arsenal of Annie Sloan America colors, both straight from the can and blended. #zibraweeklypick #colormovement #paintitbeautiful
As a side note, this seems like a 'mess' of colors, but it actually takes planning to get the look I was seeking.

I have wanted to reupholster a vintage sofa for years and I finally made it happen! Swipe to see the before - shiny yellow fabric and a dated wood finish. I got this sofa for a steal on Facebook and I knew it had major potential. I ended up using dropcloth for the upholstery and I love how it turned out. I am not going to try to claim this was a quick and easy project because it definitely wasn't. But it was still so worth it. And now I can check reupholstering a couch off the DIY bucket list! You can get the full tutorial at lovelyetc.com if you are also mad enough to take on something like this. 😉😂
Sharing a favorite corner in my home today that gives me all the chillin’ feels. Everything from the plants, to the lighting, to the largest piece of antique furniture I’ve ever reupholstered. It’s my coffee spot in the morning and it’s a favorite for everyone in the house (including the kids who insist on jumping on it from the couch 🙄.)The hanging Wandering Jew plant came from Facebook Marketplace and the macrame hanger came from @rossdressforless. Let’s see how long I can keep this one alive! 🤷🏼♀️🌿 If you swipe ⬅️ you can see my not so great before picture. 🤣 My poor daughter has to make her IG debut at some point. She’s always hiding in her room and drawing. Well anyways, it’s the best before I can find. The front of the chaise was broken so that got secured and I made the fabric out of dyed drop cloth. I even added tuft buttons, which was also a first for me. I am always willing to teach myself something new and this was definitely a challenge but well worth it! So much has changed in our little house the last few months. I need to clean up so I can update you all 😂
Anyone else feel like simplifying your life is complicated and messy When I try to simplify and declutter, everything just gets messier. It’s the following through and getting everything donated/thrown away that gets me. One day 😅
