Don't mention rope in the house of the hanged and don't say diet in this house, above all after eating 3 cinammon rolls.. and doesn't matter if you know how many butter and sugar you used, because they are insignificant details...

Not only do @freshmilkandmore deliver our milk three times a week in reusable glass bottles (no more plastic!) but on Saturdays when there’s no place to be but home we can pre-order our breakfast the day before. •
It’s *almost* like room service, just with the cooking and washing up. •
In one pan we add fresh baby plum tomatoes and button mushrooms with a little olive oil, salt, pepper and thyme from our herb pots. The other pan creates a convey belt of perfectly fried eggs. Seeded wholemeal bread, browns in the toaster before being slathered with Netherend Farm Organic butter. Tomatoes, mushrooms and eggs are piled on and it’s all washed down with The Village Press’s freshly squeezed OJ or their new Apple & Kiwi Smoothie (with Matcha Green Tea & Spirulina) – delivered in recyclable glass bottles, which you also can reuse yourself. •

Today we had an unusual lunch, a savoury French toast with a poached egg on top, arugula and sautéed button mushrooms, as I had been challenged by @clemfoodie for the “Find your Connection” project by @googleartsculture to cook a typical French recipe.
Our lunch was blessed with the smell of butter gently frying in the pan and with the milk and egg soaked slices of bread so golden and crisp on the outside and soft, almost custardy inside. Then the button mushrooms: I have to confess this was the first time I was sautéeing mushrooms in butter, as, you know, I cook basically everything in extra virgin olive oil! The egg on top was the icing on the cake, @tommyonweb and I truly enjoyed our unusual lunch, and we’re already planning another French meal soon!
On the World Food Day we realised once more how food brings people together, how a shared meal - even a virtual one - can be the beginning of a friendship, even when you swim in olive oil and the other person worship butter!

Mini Blueberry Tartlets. Argentinian Blueberries are sweeter from other varieties of blueberries and offer numerous health benefits! They are filled with antioxidants which help boost our immune system!
(for the blueberry compote)
90g caster sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional) 1/2 ground ginger
350g shop bought puff pastry
Blueberries for garnish
To make the blueberry compote, simply add all of the ingredients together into a heavy bottomed sauce pan. Cook for 10 minutes until bubbling. Leave to cool completely.
Turn on your oven to 190 degrees, and cut your pastry into small 6 cm by 6cm cubes and add to a muffin tin. Using your thumbs, push up so the pastry fills to the top of each muffin tin center.
Add baking parchment to the center of each pastry tin and add rice of ceramic beans. Bake for 8 minutes.
Remove the beans /rice and then spoon in to about 3/4 of the way of your blueberry compote. Bake for a further 6 minutes. Leave to cool completely before eating. .

Gloomy autumn mornings are fab for getting cosy, staying inside and treating yourself to a cooked breakfast and your favourite radio listen, looking out at the dreary darkness from within the glowing warmth of the house. At this time of year the kitchen becomes our everything and in-between place, somewhere to recharge, to energise with creative projects and seasonal baking when trapped indoors; somewhere to unwind, to reflect and to connect with each other. After the madness of summer it's a quiet gift to have this time to gather and rekindled shared interests, projects and ideas. Wishing you all a beautiful cosy Saturday
