Part of dealing with ADHD for me is learning how to work around my consistent desire to put off good things. Good things like reading the most relevant passage in a book, buying that plane ticket, or even loading fantastic pictures like these - 🤷🏻♀️ which I’ve been sitting on since June 2018.
A part of me believes that if I keep it for later, the potential for awesome can remain - kind of like a Schrödinger’s cat for my emotions. Another part wants to do things so perfectly the first time that I refuse to make drafts - of emails, of picture posts, even of books I’ve attempted to write!
So I’m slowly starting to take charge of my timeline by telling myself that nothing with ever be perfect, and that if I’m giving it a good shot, it’s enough for it to just BE.
✨ 📷@miagoreng
Now that spring is coming, I’m starting to hear a lot of talk about getting your “summer bod” ready. Judging from the responses to my story last night (I asked what you wished group fitness instructors would stop saying), I don’t think that mentality is really serving any of us. I don’t know about you, but it makes me feel like crap. I hear it from fitness professionals AND clients and yet I don’t know anyone who actually likes the pressure of having to drastically change their body to look a certain way in a bikini or shorts. Like it’s just this thing we think we’re supposed to talk about and comply with. But you definitely won’t hear it coming out of my mouth. In the words of that little girl with the juice box meme: summer’s gonna get whatever body I give it! 😉 Seriously though. I’m doing the best I can. I bet you are too. In order have a drastically different “summer body” I’d have to do some pretty extreme (borderline disordered) things to get there and I just don’t want to. What if we all just agreed to come as we are and enjoy the 👙😎☀️🍉🍦🌊 anyway That’d be pretty cool. Double tap if you’re with me. #summerbodygoals #summerbodiesaremadeinthewinter #summervibes #effyourbeautystandards #thebeachgonnagetwhateverbodyigiveit #bodypositive #newfitspo #bikiniseason #edrecovery #riotsnotdiets #fit2point0 #fit2point0pro
