🔥Burnout tip: arrive early.
You don’t need that gut-twisting, panic sensation of always being late, get it out of your life!
There’s lots of tricks you can try:
•setting multiple alarms
•laying out your clothes the night before
•if it’s somewhere you’ve never been before, scope it out days in advance.
•set the appointment in your phone for 15 minutes earlier to allow for changes in traffic and finding parking.
Once you make a habit of being early, being on time will feel late. 😄 Worst case scenario, you’ll just kill some time in your car before heading in. 🙌🏼
Orientation starts tomorrow so I went on a little drive to check out where we’ll be meeting. Isn’t it beautiful (This is just for day 1, we meet on the hospital campus the rest of the week.) This gave me a chance to see how long it takes to drive there from my house, find the employee parking, and get rid of some of the first day jitters by feeling prepared. 👍🏼
Early, on-time, or late, which one are you
A patient that I had this morning told me that I look like I’m 28! Bless his heart! Who doesn’t love getting a compliment like that
I notice the wrinkles on my forehead & around my eyes. I feel the discomfort of standing up after I’ve been sitting on my knees. Sometimes I might even complain a little about my back aching after standing all day at work. There’s definitely days that I feel like I’m getting older.
Most days though, I feel like I’m younger than my thirty five years. I’m able to lift heavier than I ever have. My stamina with cardio is better than its ever been. I’m more flexible than I was when I was on high school dance-line. Most importantly, I have the energy to outlast my three little ones.
I believe that part of a youthful appearance can be attributed to good genes, but I think that a large portion of it has to do with the lifestyle we live. For the last 2 years, I’ve worked out 4+ days a week, eaten a clean(ish) diet & tried to drink my fair share of Water. I don’t think that it’s just a coincidence that I’m now in the best physical, mental & emotional shape that I’ve ever been. It’s never too late to start taking care of your body & thinking about how it will treat you in the future.
I will be leading up a new round of a fitness and nutrition program starting Monday. If you can devote 30-40 minutes per day, 4 days a week to improving your health, then this program is right for you! Send me a message or comment below for full details!
