Happy birthday @sashatanyarut!
. 14 years ago today I surprised Sasha by sneaking into her house after school (with the help of her mom and my best friend from high school) and decorated her room while she was at tennis practice. I had gotten balloons, streamers, and her favorite dessert at the time which was a NY cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. I also had one of “our” songs (that I probably downloaded illegally on Limewire and burned on a CD 😬) playing as she walked into her room. Though we met and “hooked up” a few years before this day, I’d like to believe this day was when I showed I was “boyfriend” material. Because 6 days after this, we were “officially” dating. .
We’ve been together for a long time and have had our fair share of happiness and struggles. We’ve battle this thing called life together and we’ve also had our battles against each other. But for whatever reason, we have stuck together through it all. And because of this I’ve been able to witness her growth and I couldn’t be more proud of this woman. She has gone from copying my school work in high school and in college to now having a more senior position than me in her career, making more money than me, and I often find myself asking her for career advice. She has become one of the hardest working people I know. It’s amazing how far she has come since we met when we were just kids.
Sasha- I hope this birthday was a memorable one as we explored our way around Europe and the Middle East these past 2 weeks. I can’t wait to see what more you are going to accomplish in the next 14 years and beyond! I love you always and forever.
