The picture of the sculpture is so remarkable I think that it cannot be real. It must be a photograph, digitally altered by a master.
But it is real. The sculpture is just one of several in a display called "Les Voyageurs" by a man named Bruno Catalano. They are sculptures that show men and women travelers. Each has some sort of bag or suitcase with them and it is clear they are on a journey. But the thing that makes them stand out, that makes such an impression on me is that each of them have a significant piece missing from the center of their bodies. As though they are leaving a part of themselves behind or as though they are leaving to search for the part of their bodies that is incomplete.
They are works of art, sculptures that resonate with the modern-day soul. Sculptures that tell the story of the nomad, the pilgrim, the traveler, the refugee, the immigrant. They are incomplete and imperfect, yet that is what makes them so beautiful, so unique. They are beautifully imperfect.
As I searched to find out a bit more about the artist I discovered Catalano is a third culture kid, a global nomad. He was born in Casablanca but moved to France at 12 years old, settling in Marseille. He went on to become a sailor, and it was both of these things that inspired his sculptures.
In a June 2013, article the artist is quoted as saying: "I have traveled a lot and I left Morocco when I was 12 years old. I felt that a part of me was gone and will never come back.”

Grand Hotel Taipei
The Grand Hotel is a gigantic replica of an ancient Chinese palace. It is perched on a hillside outside Taipei.
Run by the nonprofit Taiwan Friendship Foundation. This is an organization created to impress visiting heads of state, in order for them to support the Chinese nationalists' claims.
They claimed sovereignty over the Communists in the wake of their retreat from the mainland in 1949.
Lots of heads of state have stayed here on their official visits.
By the early 1970s the modest guest house expanded into a 12-floor version of a Ching dynasty palace. Complete with a vast hand-hewn wooden roof structure, covered by thousands of ceramic tiles.
The interior boasts acres of red-carpeted ceremonial halls and grounds so vast that guests have been known to take a taxi to the swimming pool.
When you arrive in Taipei & drive by car from the airport to the city center, this is the first iconic building you’ll see in the distance. When I saw it for the first time, it made me dream.
You will be surprised how this change with the new slip cover for this b&b sofa can dramatically transform their space.
To add a little more character and charm, some tropical print cushions and a mix of our rattan furnitures have came in helpful. In addition, since it is #GSS , check us out for some great rattan finds.

Are you fixated on changing something that is inherently you
I have hated my curly hair my entire life and have spent my adult years straightening it so I wouldn't have to accept it.
Then I moved to Mexico and everything changed.
Not only does the humidity here kill any attempt at keeping it straight but the constant oppressive heat does not encourage one to spend 30 minutes blowing drying and another 30 minutes using a flat iron to only walk outside and have it turn to a big fuzz ball within 10 minutes.
Add to that how hard the water is here and there came a point when I had to just let go.
So instead of fighting my curly hair I decided to embrace it.
What I learned was the reason I hated it was because I didn't know how to work WITH it, to make it look good! Once I learned some new styling techniques and bought the right product, I now prefer my curly hair!
Why am I sharing this Because I can bet there is something about YOU that you CAN'T change and yet you spend way too much time fighting it and hating it.
I will never have small hips and a small butt. I am just not built that way. But I can dress to accentuate those hips and workout to lift that booty that will show it off and feel the best version of ME.
This is what I mean when I refer to the best VERSION of you, let's focus on 3 things; accept, change and let go.
If you can't accept it, change it, if you can't change it, let go.
Share with me something that is inherently you, that you are learning to love.

This school is so beautiful with a gorgeous view. Field day before the end of the year was so fun. Since Victoria started going to school I've always volunteered and was always involved, but this year I had a break and I didn't get to participate in many activities bc of work, but today I took the day off and it was worth it.
On this island 🌴 Internet is very limited and my screen time is below 2 hours a day (mostly google maps and browsing for restaurants 🤗) To Check my mails or Instagram there is only one place to do so and it’s 3 floors away from our apartment. Consequently I prefer the hammock to browsing on my phone. What a great feature to enjoy the holiday even more. Forced unplugging is so convenient 🤩 #mexico #holbox #thecocunutlife
“I really like learning new things, so last November I went to an event called HackTalks in Helsinki. I ended up in a workshop where Eficode’s CTO Marko Klemetti was showing how to setup a modern development pipeline using containers and cloud. Back then I didn't know much about DevOps but I found it really interesting.
“He seemed so passionate and excited about it (he still is), so I thought to myself that I'd like to work in such company where people are using the latest technologies and are passionate about what they do. I didn't really wait for a perfect opportunity to join the company, but I created one, so here I am!
“I am a software engineer in ROOT R&D team. Our team does a lot of different aspects of the development- full-stack development, DevOps, testing etc. I am personally doing more front-end at the moment. Just finished refactoring a big code base, so now I'm fixing some Robot tests :)
“Yes, I'm a software engineer, but I don't read only technical articles and documentations :D I like history and psychology as well. I think people should try to be better than they were yesterday and work on themselves constantly.
“Dave Grohl had a quote which goes something like that "That's one of the great things about music. You can sing a song to 85,000 people and they'll sing it back for 85,000 different reasons.". I like being one of these 85 000 people, I think that's pretty awesome. :)”

#WeLoveRussiaBecause … of its railroads, the sense of adventure and The great Trans-Siberian Railway.
No doubt, that the most famous railway in the country is The Trans-Siberian Railway.
The Trans-Sib connects the Central part of Russia with the Eastern part of the country, it connects Moscow and Vladivostok.
During your travel via Trans-Sib you have a great chance to enjoy the spectacular views of famous Russian landmarks: Ural Mountains, great Russian rivers like Volga, the Ob, the Irtish, the Yenisey, Amour, and, of course, lake Baikal and Japanese sea.
This travel will take approx. 10 days, during which you will cross 8 time zones!

JOYOUS MUM 🕉🖖🏼🎧 Is it safe for women in their pregnancy to colour their hair We have consulted numerous renown gynaecologists regarding it. As semi or permanent dye is not highly toxic therefore it’s safe to use during pregnancy.
In addition, only small amounts of hair dye may be absorbed by the skin, leaving little that would be able to reach the fetus. However I will greatly advice not to bleach it as precaution it may agitate your scalp.
Ps: Always consult your personal gynaecologist prior to any colour service as there is many different opinion to it, at the end of the day we want a safe and healthy baby .

5 essential lessons from 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad'
1. The rich buy assets, not liabilities
An asset is anything that puts money into your pocket, like a bond or house (that you purchase and then rent out to other people). A liability is anything that costs you money because it loses value over time, like an expensive car or television set. It's important to be able to distinguish the two. "The rich buy assets. The poor only have expenses.
2. Financial literacy can only be learned through experience
The well-educated "poor dad" says, "Studying hard and getting good grades is the only way to secure a good job at a big company with excellent benefits. But the "rich dad" says that the most important goal is to learn how money works so you can make it work foryou. To be financially smart you must master accounting, investing, markets and the law. The more you broaden your skills, the more successful you'll be.
3. Learn to sell
Selling is a crucial skill if you want to be rich. Get out of your comfort zone, practice selling and network. If you don't, you'll never be able to run your own business.
4. Fear and self-doubt are your greatest barriers to success
The primary difference between the rich and the poor is how they manage fear. "Poor dad" keeps it safe and avoids risks. This perspective can be costly in the long-run. "Often in the real world, it's not the smart who get ahead, but the bold," says "rich dad."
5. Always think in terms of opportunities
The "rich dad" forbids his kids from saying, "I can't afford it." Instead, he tells them to say, "How can I afford it" The first phrase shuts down a person's brain, and they no longer have to think. The second one opens up "possibilities, excitement and dreams." It forces the brain to search for answers. The primary reason the majority of the poor and middle class are fiscally conservative—which means, 'I can't afford to take risks'—is that they have no financial foundation."
