#alternatedayfasting is not a magical diet. You must fully commit to the process to see results. It takes discipline, failures, frustration, practice, and determination.
I still crave cupcakes and tacos. Most fasting days, I day dream of breaking my fast with a cheeseburger, and fantasize about desserts. But I don’t break my fast, I stick with my plan.
The fat kid in my brain isn’t going away, but I’ve learned how to cope with food thoughts and resisted temptation. Restricting myself was something I could not do prior to ADF. #ADF works for me because I can restrict myself one day, and the next I’m free to eat as I please. The guilt of negating my progress keeps me in check to make better meal decisions. Even though I now tend to make healthier choices, I’m free to make the choice!
This is why other diets failed for me. “Don’t eat sugar, cut back on carbs, don’t eat red meat, don’t drink, etc.”. The constant need to remember all the rules was exhausting and the guilt of giving in to something I wanted made me feel like a failure. Alternate Day Fasting is the perfect coupling of disciplined fasting and the power to eat anything.
