Before you even think 🤔 or ask about a formula we need to talk 💭💭 about something more important. •
The pic 📸 posted is NOT the result of a toner or formula at all. It’s the result of several hours of lifting, re-saturating, blending bands, pre-toning, root shadowing, toning again, removing an overtone and re-toning over 2 days equaling 9+ hours of work. •
A lot of people think 🤔 that they have formulation issues when in fact they have lifting issues. Most of the beautiful pics you see and that the clients are bringing you are the combination of proper lifting mixed with proper formulation. You cannot have one ☝🏼 without the other.
Level 7 orange cannot become icy ❄️ white with a toner
Level 8 gold cannot become silver 🐺with a toner
Level 9 yellow cannot become pastel 🦄 with a toner
The key 🔑 is lifting to the proper level first, then your toner can create magic. •
One of the most frustrating things to try to explain to clients is that their level 4 hair will never lift or look 👀 the same as a lifted natural level 7 even when lifted to the same level and toned with the same formula. •
The natural level 7 will always appear and maintain lighter, brighter results while the level 4 will appear more drab and become brassy much quicker •
Stop ✋🏼 asking for formulas for clients that you haven’t even lightened yet.
Raise your hand 🖐🏼 if this was helpful
