Day 1 of the Fit Girl challenge!! I’m excited to spend this month focusing on my own personal growth and wellness. As a mom of two tiny humans it’s hard to make time for this but my health can’t wait until the kids are grown! Watching my own mom go through health problems as a retiree because she always put us kids first and ignored her own health is eye opening. I don’t want to be in the same position in 30 years (though I do want to be like her in many other ways because she is awesome). One thing I like about this challenge is not cutting out whole food groups, I have tried that in the past and I can never stick with it for more than 6 weeks or so. I’m hoping to change my relationship with food and have more energy to spend with my kids and on my own pursuits. #goals #fitgirl #fitgirlsguide #fitgirlschallenge #28daychallengefitgirlsguide

Before photos easier to share all the time and I'm grateful for that! Second photo is nearly everything I ate today. Started with a pear, then whole grain oatmeal with blueberries, and for lunch gorged myself at Din Ti Fung with a dear friend 🤤 It was SO good! Not pictured is the pork bun and the broccoli steamed with garlic I also had there, and the ice cream cone this afternoon (BUT! I only got ONE scoop! Which is a step up for me!) Since I had so much, I haven't been hungry this evening, so I'm just catching up on my water and going to fast until morning.

This three day weekend has been super fun. Been enjoying time with family and friends so I'm not going to sweat the fact that I splurged a little. I still made sure I didn't over do it and I'm getting back on track tomorrow 🤷🏻‍♀️ #ProgressNotPerfection is my favorite fit girl motto, and I'm keeping it in mind 🥰

Alright y'all. Round 2 (for this year)! ♡ Before photos easier to share all the time and I'm grateful for that! Second photo is nearly everything I ate today. If you haven’t tried resistance bands yet you will LOVE them. Some of our favorites are the @undersun_fitness bands! These make for a killer workout whether you’re at the gym, at home, or even traveling.
This workout is ladder style to really burn everything out 🔥 the layout is 10-20-30-30-20-10
CIRCUIT 1:
🎀10 per side static lunge shoulder raises
🎀10 per side glute kickbacks
🎀10 bicep curls
🎀10 squat shoulder presses
🎀10 each front to overhead band pulls
CIRCUIT 2: Do 20 of everything
CIRCUIT 3: Do 30 of everything 
CIRCUIT 4: 30
CIRCUIT 5: 20

How to get over IMPOSTOR SYNDROME 😶 For the longest time, I thought I was missing it.
.
I thought there was, maybe, out there, somewhere, some SECRET about how to feel more confident in your own skin. And for whatever reason, I’d missed that day in school.
.
And yes, I’m talking about middle school (who DIDN’T feel that way in middle school?!)... but it still happens to me ALL THE TIME.
.
In a new job.
.
At a new gym.
.
Building a new platform (👋)
.
In all these situations, it starts the same— I feel like I’m surrounded by all of these people who look SO confident, so at home in their own skin, for whom it seems to come so easily. And I wonder why I don’t feel that way, too.
.
But I keep chugging along, I stay CONSISTENT, I keep showing up for myself and others and one day, I start to feel an ~ounce~ of that same easy confidence. Then a glass. Then, suddenly, a whole FRICKING gallon.
.
And you know what I think it is?
.
It’s just that— the continuing to SHOW UP and put yourself out there, even... ESPECIALLY... when it feels the hardest and the least natural.
.
Now, I find that I feel the happiest when I’ve found a balance of, in one area of my life, being somewhere on that spectrum of “impostor syndrome” / building a new community, and then having other parts of my life where I feel like that repertoire comes more easily.
.
Because you know what? The more you experience that transition from feeling like an impostor to feeling a part of a new community, the more it feels 1000% worth it to keep putting yourself out there and trying something new.
.

Yep it’s another night of travel for me. Up and back in a day but it’s all good. I make every trip into the office worth it. I love my job even when it stretches me a smidge. I’ve got goals! Now to make sure I work out in the morning...
