If you have a Netflix, Hulu, HBO or whatever subscription OR grab a Starbucks drink or go out to eat just once a week, then you can afford this.⁣

If I told you that my mother-in-law (who is over the age of 60 and has limitations), a few girlfriends who’ve just had babies in the last 6 months, a single mother, a military spouse on one income, are ALL in my accountability group, do you really have an excuse? ⁣
⁣
You know what I love so much about all the women in my accountability group? They realized that for too long they were constantly giving back and taking care of others rather than themselves. Or for too long they were set in their owns ways with unhealthy habits that walking into a gym with no support was so daunting. UNTIL, they realized that it was TIME to make time for themselves. Time to make herself priority. Because when she takes care of herself well she can take care of others well. ⁣

You don’t have to figure this out alone. If you’re lost, sluggish, unmotivated, unfulfilled...I’m opening up 5 spots in my next accountability group starting THIS Monday, July 29th for YOU. I mixed light weight for a high number of quick reps (145x14) before going to heavier weight for 1 rep each (215, 225 and 245). Then I finished with banded bench presses to challenge my shoulder stability. This allows me to train at high weight as well as for power and stability without being excessively sore in the coming days. *

Bench Press is at the top of the list when it comes to effective upper body exercises. But you must decide how you want to implement the exercise into your workouts. There are many benefits to be sought from benching (enlarged and defined upper body muscles, absolute strength) but also potential drawbacks (risk of injury, muscle imbalances, hinderance to certain sport specific movements). *

Bodybuilders, recreational lifters, athletes and even power lifters will rarely share the same bench press routine. For example, Hypertrophy training (6-12 reps, 4-6 sets, 70-85%1rm) will not necessarily help an athlete, but it is mandatory for bodybuilders. Maximal strength training (1-5 reps, 3-5 sets at 85%+ 1rm) won’t do for the bodybuilder what it will for the power lifter. *

Determine your physical condition (are your joints healthy enough to bench) and it’s value to you (and your sport if you are an athlete) when adding this to your workouts.

These are all simple steps that add up over weeks, months, year and will make it easy to transition to a vegan diet in time. It can be very difficult, especially coming from a diet high in meats, dairy & other animal products, so just start with one meal and progress from there. I find breakfast is the simplest to veganize first and it's where I started personally. ⁣⁠

Every day we are faced with responsibilities, activities, and obligations that either supply us with energy or take it away from us.

Our goal each day is to have a net surplus of energy, expending less than we have in our energy “bank account”.

This way we are able to place energy into other aspects of our lives such as our health/fitness, family and friends, and side-hobbies.

But, for most people... that’s not the reality.

Most people live in a negative energy balance that leads them to feel tired, unhappy, and make excuses of why they can’t achieve the things they desire most.

So, how do we change that?

Look at your day-to-day routine and ask yourself what GIVES and what TAKES your energy.

Make adjustments!
