Ragnar Kjartansson’s “Bliss” (2019), a twelve hour loop of an excerpt from Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro,” will be performed at the REDCAT Theater (@calartsredcat) in Los Angeles this coming Saturday, May 25th.
Through extreme repetition, an excerpt from Mozart’s original composition moves from elegant to ironic to ecstatic, finally returning to its original delicacy and joy but freighted with the emotional and physical toll of the experience. “Bliss” is presented as part of the @LAPhil's season-long Fluxus Festival, curated by Christopher Rountree in collaboration with the Getty Research Institute.
Full performance tickets are sold out. A limited number of $10 timed standby tickets are available as of May 14. Standby tickets will have access to attend one hour of the performance between 1PM and 7PM that day. Access is dependent on attendance.

A major vocal work for one thousand voices, David Lang's "crowd out" will see performers intermingle with the audience, slowly transforming the swirling babble and chatter into a stunningly orchestrated whirlwind of voices. Sure to be a highlight of Noon to Midnight, June 1 at Walt Disney Concert Hall. #FluxusFestival
Just like Mueller, Jelly is dropping it’s report today on PAST/FUTURE interdisciplinarity from Neolithic Rituals to #ragnarkjartansson - pick up a copy tonight at a concert of music by Yoko Ono // thank you to all who contributed to the paper // so proud to share this with you. #fluxusfestival

Blurring the lines between Art and Life with #alisonknowles and #joshuaselman during this years on going #fluxusfestival
Proposition #2 : MAKE A SALAD, Chopping boards mic’d up, so you could hear every vegetable being sliced, chopped and peeled creating a new form of music, Challenging our ideas of music and to hear the sounds of our world differently, then completing the performance by inviting the audience to indulge. I’m still riding this wave of excitement to have participated as salad distributor number eight along with salad distributor number three.
