As you uplift your own life through focused thoughts,
Doing what you love and living by your heart,
You lift up the entire human race.
We are not separate beings,
Together we all form a collective
And it is through that collective
That we must heal. "

Have you ever missed someone but not reached out because you don’t always want to be the one putting in the effort Or you feel like you’d be annoying Sometimes we get so worried about bothering each other or we feel like if someone really wanted to talk to us they’d reach out first. But the truth is sometimes people are battling things we don’t understand and that keeps them feeling isolated and unable to reach out and you think you might be annoying them but maybe an “I miss you” is exactly what they needed to hear. We live in a world where a kind word can be few and far in between and your kindness could save someone’s life. So let’s spread a little love today ♥️
GATHER + CREATE
Last night I attended an event for local creatives.
We gathered around this table in that was set in the middle of a small farm whose charms + quaint details belong in storybooks; A kind of place that makes you pause and give thanks to be even a thread in the fabric that breathes life into a home like this.
We took our seats and awaited the family-style menu of wine, cheese + dreams that would be served. I was anxious to indulge.
At first, we all held our arts and passions in our laps. Like children, we allowed them to be admired - even questioned- but kept them close where we knew they’d be safe.
By the end of the night, those very dreams we held the hands of so tightly, were dancing on the table and shining more brightly than before.
I left an empty glass and plate behind, and carried out a more full + inspired heart. .
My creative comfort zone is made up of books and blogs and podcasts. I read and listen to the stories and dreams of others to feel connected + help inspire my own.
It works. I am inspired often. But I am also comfortable, which can be a dangerous place to stay for too long.
Last night stretched the boundaries of that zone. It also reminded how invigorating it can be to see real purpose + passion in person. It helped me realize we may need each other more than we think on our creative life journeys.
Heart homework: Step out of your comfort zone and seek connection. Set your life’s table for the guest desired, but also make room for the ones you weren’t expecting. Sometimes, they are the ones that bring the most to the table.💛
Dedicating post #💯 to the newest craze that has spread all throughout HK and the rest of Asia summer 2018: milk cap tea. At first I was personally skeptical, because who wants a salty drink. I was immediately converted though when I tried this lychee jasmine milk cap tea from Cha Long. You gotta drink it from the right angle, to get the perfect balance of cheese, crushed ice and tea in one sip. Tip: go to the Cha Long at Lee Tung Avenue in Wan Chai, the queue is massively shorter, the waiting area is air-conditioned and there are comfy chairs to sit at while you enjoy your drink!☺️
