Why Football Doesn’t Have A Concussion Problem, But The NFL Has A Concussion Problem.
The NFL has been in the sports rehab media of late for all the wrong reasons.
Concussion law suits, current and former players voicing concern about player safety and head trauma, and not to mention the 3 letter word; CTE.
Yes their needs to be a change in the culture of football from a grass roots level, but we also need change from the professional leagues that have so much influence on the younger ages
Have a read below to a few of our thoughts.

Gilles Muller v. Michael Mmoh
Surprising to see Gilles Muller not seeded after the year he had last year and the run he made here. The tall veteran has had a surprisingly rough year, but look for him to feel at home back on the grass. Mmoh, a lucky loser, was dispatched with ease in the qualifying and cannot see him giving Muller a run for his money.
Prediction: Muller in 3 sets.
#25 Philipp Kohlscreiber v. Evgeny Donskoy
Kohlscreiber, a previous first and second round Grand Slam lock, has been unreliable in the last few years. Was looking for him to make an early exit, but not to Donskoy who has little to no grass court success and a rough year to boot. Look for the German to make it through with ease, but not advance much further.
Prediction: Kohlscreiber in 3 sets.
Gael Monfils v. #23 Richard Gasquet
What an intriguing first round match. It seems that Monfils has been absolutely punished this entire year for his low ranking. Gasquet had an abysmal grass court season and Monfils had barely any practice. While Gasquet has maintained his ranking through ATP events I can’t see him winning many best of 5 matches anymore, especially on grass against a fellow Frenchman.
Prediction: Monfils in 5 sets.
Laslo Djere v. Paulo Lorenzi
Djere is yet to breakthrough at the Grand Slam level but is a decent hard court player with lots of lower level success. Lorenzi is one of the veterans of the tour who has found his stride late in his career. I’d look for the crafty Italian to find his way through to round two.
Prediction: Lorenzi in 4 sets.
Sergiy Stakhovsky v. Joao Sousa
Who can forget Stakhovsky’s unbelievable match that sent Federer packing in the second round all those years ago. One of the few serve and volley players left that is benefitted by the grass, he is always a danger to upset players at Wimbledon. Sousa is no easy first round thought, he has his fare share of major tournament experience and top 30 play. However, his clay court style game will struggle against the pressure of Stakhovsky.
Prediction: Stakhovsky in 4 sets.
#11 Sam Querrey v. Jordan Thompson
Querrey, another great grass court player with a phenomenal 2017 Wimbledon under his belt. Can’t see this match going anyway but the American’s, the big server should have no problem with the Aussie. Look for Querrey to make another run here.
Prediction: Querrey in 3 sets.
Daniil Medvedev v. #16 Borna Coric
Battle of the young guns and two great grass players. Medvedev has a game made for grass and has had a fantastic grass court season, but Coric has been on a phenomenal run on all surfaces. However, being seeded in the top 16 for the first time instead of being the underdog could put some pressure on Coric. If there was a nonseed that could take down Coric, it is definitely Medvedev. That being said, I can’t see the Coric streak of great tournaments ending here.
Prediction: Coric in 4 sets.
