Almost 300 yards of tape used in prep. I like this @frogtape
Three of my favourite products 😍
❤️Frog Tape because it is the best and it does not let any paint seep underneath (I’ve cheaped out in the past and it’s created so much work cleaning up, re-taping and fixing)
❤️🎯 Bulls Eye 1.2.3. is the greatest primer EVER! I’ve used it for so many projects now and I’m talking really high-traffic areas (think doors in schools...feet kicking, backpacks scratching etc) It creates a great, flat surface for acrylic paint. It’s 👍 ❤️Liquitex Gloss Varnish makes everything deliciously shiny ✨ Recommend it where it won’t come into contact with folks much. Downside is that it smells bad, like that poisonous flip flop smell! Ha ha that could just be an issue all of my very own...😷Applying it with a sponge is good because it’s fast AND #nobrushmarks ❤️🎨
There, my twopence worth on stuff that’s worked for me!

I have been systematically painting my house room by room. After a couple of rooms I discovered this tape. Don’t waste your money on the blue stuff. This tape, albeit 2x as expensive is amazing. Paint the cleanest lines with no leaking...AND it doesn’t pull up your paint. #frogtape #painting #rockmyworld #doesthejob
My daughter made my hubby a very special, Simpson’s-themed Father’s Day gift!! 😂🛋🖼💛💙 (I used painters tape to strategically tape the shapes, & she painted it herself!!)
We always tape off our trim, when we spray or even brush. In this case, we sprayed all of the trim, so we do this to protect from splatters from the roller when painting the walls.
It may get some backlash, but we also tape off all of our returns. All trim gets taped off. We do this primarily because, when you brush up against trim to draw a line, and then roll up against it, even if you dutch it (get extremely close) there’s generally going to be a section of brushmarks, and then a stipple. We do not like this but prefer the walls to have a perfect and consistent texture that perfectly ends wherever an object or different substrate begins. No brushmarks. Close to perfection. Many say they can keep it perfect but that is very rare and when a flashlight comes out, I doubt it.
To prevent bleed through we use #FrogTape yellow, gently apply the paint used for the trim, push it in with a finger, and then go back with the brush dried to smooth out. This seals in the tape, especially for corners. Then you can roll right up against it with a brush and whizz / mini roller. Perfect texture consistency.
The only downfall is the tape ledge left. To remove this problem, you take an angled 220-320 sanding block and run it over it. Takes it down without messing with either the trim or wall paint and finish if done carefully. Voila. And in the end, perfect lines every time.
We’ll post on this more with examples. It’s simply what we’ve found to be the best process for our style. Running #BenjaminMoore #Aura with my all time favorite brush, #Wooster #Lindbeck nylon / poly extra firm.
