Woodland wonders 🌲🌳🌴 .
We are so lucky to have, what feels like a forest, out of our back garden. This photo was taken standing half way down the garden, looking up at the almighty trees. The last week while I've been off I have been wandering out, taking photos of the sun streaming through the trees, as well as just sitting and watching the sun bounce around the falling leaves. It comes into the house so beautifully too, and I often sit with a cup of tea, following the glistening light around the rooms. love this time of year. 🌳🏡🐿️🍂🌥️🌄 #autumn #garden #autumnalgarden #gardening #sunshine #sun #house #halfterm #forest #woodland #trees #bigtrees #house #home #homedecor #asthetic #renovation
Cultivation and Propagation: Not difficult to cultivate, though it is not fast growing and takes several years to form good looking heads. Haworthias are very responsive to differing cultural conditions both as regards colour, length and shape of leaves, rate of growth and size of plant.
Watering Needs: Water regularly in the growing season, but avoid water-logging and let dry between watering, they should never dry out completely during the rest period. If grown in a container, bottom watering by immersing the container is recommended. It must have very dry atmosphere.
Sun Exposure: Keep cool and shaded in summer, and provide locations with diffuse sunlight or light shade, it can tolerate shade, shelter from direct sun during the hottest hours. In shade the body colour will remain more green, while full sun will darken a lot. It can be sunburned if moved from shade/greenhouse into full sun too quickly. The amount of sunlight it can withstand without scorching depends upon the how hot it becomes in the summer in the locale in which it is planted. During the spring it may be able to take full sun until the heat arrives at the end of spring. In an area that has hot afternoon sun, it may be able to take full morning sun, but requires afternoon shade or afternoon light shade.
Propagation: Seeds, offsetts, leaves and roots cuttings. Leave the offsets that appear at the base between the leaves attached to form a cluster, or wait until they are 1/3 the size of the parent and then detach and plant. Cuttings root easily and remain true to the species, while seeds tend to hybridize.

Cultivation and Propagation: Cultivation and propagation is easy, they are happy in any average succulent house. Re pot every 2 years. Water normally in the growing season, sparsely in the winter. Winter care presents no problems at 5°C with plenty of light. Pest and diseases: They are very susceptible to stem and root mealy bugs, and damage from these may well initiate fungal attack. Any time when there is a dead or dying stem in the pot it is important to remove it immediately and completely before other healthy stems can become ill too, you can then reliably isolate the healthy parts, dry them off, and re-root them in new compost. Propagation: Easiest with stem cuttings. Allow cuttings to dry a day before planting. Stems must be laid (Not buried) on gritty compost and will then root from the underside of the stems. It can also be increased from seeds sowing in spring in moist, sandy peat moss. Barely cover seeds. Seeds germinate quickly.

Cultivation and Propagation: are quite smart for the extremely dry circumstances where these plants grow. But not so difficult to grow if you remember not to over-water in the Summer when they're taking their rest. They can grow easily on window sills, verandas and in miniature succulent gardens where they are happy to share their habitat with other smaller succulent plants, or in outdoor rockeries. They are spring and autumn grower (summer dormant).
Watering: Winter grower, provide some water all year around, in the wild most of the growth occurs during spring and autumn- recommend water less in summer. During the winter months, water only when the soil becomes completely dry. Wet soil quickly causes root and stem rot, especially during chilly winter months, but can re-root if taken care of. No water should ever be allowed to stand around the roots. Low ambient humidity is always needed. Roots will rot in ever damp soil.
Sun Exposure: They need full sun or bright, filtered light with ample airflow to stay compact, generally needs full sun part of the day to bloom, but avoid direct blasting sun in mid summer (with sun exposure the leaf develops a nice reddish tint), they do not do well in full shade as they tend to etiolate, fall over and rot easily.
Hardiness: Although the plants will survive mild frost if kept dry (hardy as low as -5° C) they should be protected from frost to prevent scarring. USDA 9b-12
Propagation: They are easily propagated by the removal of off shoots, remove a lateral shoot and insert the basal part buried in the soil. This shoot should root within a month, and small offshoots will form at the base. They can also be grown from seed.
