Not all calories are equal and cannot substitute food calories for alcohol to reach your daily calorie intake

Here’s why:
Alcohol stops fat metabolism. When the body metabolizes alcohol, it will flag it as toxic, and takes precedence over all others and then shuts down the metabolism of any other nutrient pathways. Calorie intake around these times will be stored as fuel for later and not be processed. So imagine the consequences of high sugar indulgences that are being stored

Alcohol metabolism also inhibits nutrient absorption. So your intake of nutrients does not make it to the necessary tissue and organs

Well... I'm back to strict keto in hopes of getting over my plateau. When I first started keto, I tracked everything in an app and got obsessed over the numbers which turned out to be really unhealthy for me. Or at least for my mental health... So I stopped tracking so closely and just kept (rough) tabs on my net carbs. I thought I'd give this a go again to see if it helps make the scale start dropping again. So far I've noticed I'm eating a little too high of protein and not nearly enough fat. Hoping to do better! I'm also trying the carb manager app this time around. I normally do it in MyFitnessPal, but I wanted to see a more granular breakdown of the types of carbs I'm taking in daily. Fingers crossed! .
