"You don't have to live a lie. Living a lie will mess you up. It will send you into depression. It will warp your values." ~ Gilbert Baker
Ive never lived a lie, I've always been me. I've always been honest. However I felt like I've lived different lives at the same time depending on the circle of people that I was around. Some was more of the calm relaxed version of me, some was more of the adventurous version of me, and some was more of the quiet but present version of me. These were all based on the groups I was with, but I was always myself. I didn't hide the other versions from people I just didn't bring that side of me out in front of them because they didn't fit the vibe the group was. But there are a few people I've been all versions around, those people are probably the most important as I can be the most comfortable being all versions of myself at the same time. But regardless, I've always been honest and myself.

Ghost Towns of The Colombian Pacific.
Protected by its remoteness, the Colombian Pacific has become a strategic holding point for militias such as the ELN and Clan del Golfo. In 2018 they exported more than 550tonnes of cocaine from this region alone (UN Office on Drugs and Crime). 1000’s of families have fled in the process.

Picture 2: Fishing village of El Venado abandoned following violent demonstrations by the National Liberation Army (ELN) in 2017 and January 2018.
Picture 3: Lone fisherman on the Río San Juan (region abandoned in 2017)

Bodie CA Ghost Town This is the Bodie Hotel where I did some ‘window’ photography. Shooting through glass often results in reflections in the glass that come from behind the camera. The solution is to get closer to the glass but you have to be careful because that old glass is quite delicate. So, with camera on a tripod, i move it close so the lens is 1” from the glass. Then i wrap small piece of bendable black plastic around the lens so it acts like a lens shade and reflections gone. Then over processing in HDR for the look.
