Came home after a holiday in Cyprus to this, my WHOLE bedroom wrapped in wrapping paper!!! The bed... the lamp.. the rug.. the remote even my candles!! I must say it looks cute but it was a nightmare to tidy, and after a long journey home this is not what I had in mind to relax, I just wanted to lay in bed! 🛏 💤
Today my heart is full from the life that the Lord Jesus has given me. When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide, take over, change and empower our lives and our selfish desires, we have no choice but to submit and rest in HIM. It is only because of HIS love and HIS salvation that has set us free and has allowed us to make it this far. When the world tried to rip us apart, and the enemy tried to put every road block and obstacle in our way, we fought hard to know the Lord and live out the Word and to be strong in our love for HIM and most importantly our love for each other. No matter what we went through and what opposition we faced we did not allow the lies and doubts to make themselves at home in our minds or in our lives. (1 Peter 5:8-9). Our God does not ask that we make things perfect. He asks that we be in a relationship with HIM daily and in HIS presence. On that day 3 years ago, HIS presence was near with us and we found peace and joy and discovered HIS purpose for our lives when we said “yes” and “I do” before HIM.
Looking through pictures from 3 years ago, I have tears in my eyes just like I did that very day. I am weeping because it has been an incredible journey. Marriage and married life is never perfect or easy and it hasn’t always been; we’ve had our hard moments, days and seasons. And the past 3 years navigating through them has not always been clear and clinging to Gods word in a world that continues to find ways to deny HIM is hard. However, I know that what sets us apart is that we are dedicated and determined to rest in and rely on the promises of the Lord. We are making ourselves available to be perfected and shaped by HIM. Our trials have refined us. The tests that we have been put through have matured us! The valleys we walk through today are preparing us! And the delays we experience are disciplining us! We know that HE is for us even when everybody else isn’t! Dominic, the day that I said I do was the day that I promised to walk through this hard life, hand in hand with a common purpose to be faithfully serving Christ. Indeed, what God had put together we let no man put asunder. (Matthew 19:6). 🙏🏻🤝✨✝️ (Continued In Comments)
I continue to give less gifts each year to do what really matters during the holidays - spending time with those you care about. I encourage everyone to focus more on spending time with the person and less on things. Memories are what matter. Taking the time out of your day to be around someone means so much more than the 5 minutes it took for you to order 27 cheap Bath & Body works lotions. He is the reason for the season. Not presents. I'm on semester break til the 14th and i'd love to see people before then since I don't always have the chance to. That's my Christmas wish. ❤️
