Girl time is so important for our mental health and to replenish ourselves from the daily stressors we encounter every. single. day. To celebrate Friday, we wrote a short article supported by 3 SCIENTIFIC & RESEARCH based reasons why we shouldn't feel guilty about drinking a whisky sour (or two... 😌) tonight. Tag your girls & let them know you wanna chill tonight! Link in bio. 🍸🥃💃🏾💆🏾
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Our 2019 Spring Collection has been moved to Saturday, Feb 23rd @ 1:00pm pacific time. I had to postpone this launch because as hard as I’ve been working trying to edit all of these listings as well as working on open orders, I’m afraid it won’t be ready by Sunday. I’m so very sorry! I hope you all can understand! 🌿🌷 With this extension, I’ll also be including our St. Paddy’s Day bows with the launch! 🍀
For today’s #FreedomFriday post I am sharing a little more of my story...some that I have never put in writing or verbalized to anyone. I pray it can encourage you. I pray if you are a young mom going through this right now, that you would reach out. You are not alone! .
This is me & my babies, just a few weeks shy of 10 years ago. Everything looks wonderful~& my babies were precious—no doubt about that! But what you can’t see is that I was an exhausted mom who had been through a miscarriage, a pregnancy 🤰, another miscarriage & then back-to-back pregnancies resulting in three children 3 & under—all within a five year span. My body was tired, my emotions out of control & I sure can relate to her feelings of anxiety. .
There were days so dark that I don’t know how I made them through. You see, I was put on an anti-depressant shortly after our youngest was born for post partum depression. I also, despite many people’s recommendation, decided to finally go on #Acutane, after many years of battling with acne unsuccessfully through topical measures & daily oral antibiotic usage. This medication is so severe that they require you to be on birth control because if you have a baby while on it, it would cause severe abnormalities & deformities. For the previous years, I couldn’t be on birth control because it always gave me severe #migraines. .
We had always thought we would have 4 children, but after Madelyn was born, we considered how miserable I was while pregnant each time—I literally felt like my body would fall a part and I was so uncomfortable. I dealt with carpal tunnel in my left wrist, sciatica down my right side from my hip to my heel, severely swollen ankles from water retention, acid reflux and heartburn (I popped TUMS like they were candy), recurring migraines, digestive issues, allergies & ongoing moodiness. .
Needless to say, my hubby was gracious enough to have the procedure to ensure we wouldn’t get pregnant again since I had already been through so much and we closed the chapter on the birthing years for our family. …& in the pursuit of beauty, I decided to take the Acutane. (www.facebook.com/becomingthebestyouwithjulie for rest or DM me)
I should of just stayed up when I was awake with Rone at 5am, but I didn’t.
I should of knocked my workout out very first thing this morning, but I didn’t.
I should of gotten out of bed and started tackling my to-do list to avoid stressing myself out, but I didn’t.
I should of chosen my dense superfoods over Honeycombs for breakfast, but I didn’t.
I should of had more patience earlier when Mileena was driving me bonkers, but I didn’t.
I. Am. Human.
We all are.
Just take each moment minute by minute and try to be your best.
Workout complete and sooooo happy that I finally quit fiddling around and knocked it out of the way while Rone was napping ✊🏼

Yoga for cyclists 🚴🏼♀️ 🧘🏼♀️ Adho Mukha Svanasana Variation Kapota Pada! That’s a mouthful! Downward dog with variation of pidgeon. This pose and variation seems simplistic but it is a bit challenging. Once my ankle is across my knee, I find it challenging to keep equal pressure on both hands. Practice makes perfect as you have to focus on keeping your hips and shoulders in line. The more you press into downward dog the more you feel the stretch in your glutes and hamstrings. Your shoulders also get a great stretch and you can drop your head to feel it even deeper. Just make sure you breathe! As you exhale drive your heels down and get further into the stretch. .
Have a blessed Friday folks! I’m on the road this weekend to celebrate a close friend Who is going to have a new baby boy. 👶🏼 💙

Pretty little blooms for my pretty little niece! Who turns O N E tomorrow. Gosh time just flies...can’t wait to share her little cake with you all. Happy Friday, friends! ✨
Had a billion errands to run this afternoon for Clara’s big day, but I needed a moment to just sit, with my thoughts (and eat some carbs). It’s ironic that beside me was a couple young men discussing recipes for different drinks and shots, details of a “raging party” the invite list, etc. They took a phone call (on speaker) from some female friends discussing the story they will all tell their parents and driving arrangements. As I prepare for the most final First birthday ever, my only hope is I can keep her safe, guide her, support her and most certainly PRAY PRAY PRAY she is a whole lot classier and smarter than the youth I heard from today.... #keepthemlittle #nevergrowup #girlmom #underage #wantedtoknockemupsidethehead #iwasntthatbadofakid #alwaysbemybaby #dumbasses
When you find a coat that both fits your daughter and matches your own for only $1 ... you buy it. And then take pictures with it 😂 Thrift haul / shop with me is coming your way soon!
When I found out I was expecting we easily/quickly agreed on a boy name & didn’t give much thought to any girl names...so I’m happy to say we finally have a name picked for bbgirl💕💕💕 We were gonna wait until she was born to see what she looked like & choose one from the list of ones we both liked but after Reese called her by this particular one a few times it was aware to me that he was pretty set on it.. so yea..that’s that! 🤷🏽♀️😆 Of course it’s a secret and won’t be shared until she’s born!❤️
but I’ll tell you it won’t be Glitter flower🤣 (Ryans pick) #expectingbabynumber3 #girlmom #31weekspreggo
I’m different than my parents, and I’m ok with that.🙂
I don’t teach my daughter that exploring her feminine parts is “naughty”, like my mother once scolded her for. I corrected my mom and told Ryenn that it’s perfectly ok and healthy to be curious.
I allow her to roam around our home without clothing on when she chooses to. —
We have open dialogue about everything. Always. At age 3.
I let her find and understand boundaries the way she is able to process them.
I believe that if we keep things or hide we breed a sense of guilt and darkness. We start hiding bits of who we are and our best self crumbles. —
It always starts with something small

“Our words have power, but our actions shape our lives.” – Rachel Hollis
Maybe I’ll start tomorrow.
Maybe I’ll wait until Monday.
Why do we create these habits Maybe because we’ve been brought up observing this type of behavior and it’s all we know.
When you create the excuse of maybe I’ll workout tomorrow, sometimes it can quickly shift to not working out at all. I’ve been guilty of it – absolutely. But with being consistent and having the accountability – I’ve been able to stay on track. I care about the commitment I’ve made to myself to shift to a healthier lifestyle and it’s not ok to make excuses or become complacent or lazy.
I could hold you for 1000 years baby boy. .
We dont get many snuggles like this anymore because you are on the go 24/7. So I will soak it all in while you let me.
One day you wont be so little and my house wont be such a mess and I wont have piles of laundry to do and I will have an empty sink, but today my house is not any of those but my arms and my heart are so full and happy and I will cherish every second of it.
You and your sissy have no idea the love your Momma has for yall ❤

Tomorrow is Emily’s 1st birthday and the girls birthday party! Emmy doesn’t have clue what that means but Holly has been talking about her party for weeks!
Sometimes I think I like this pup more than my black lab who is currently digging up my yard 🤷♀️ Jack's puppy package will be here tomorrow so he will be getting a b-a-t-h.
Does anyone else have to spell around their pets or they know what you are talking about
Our pet care is officially launched now. Stay tuned to see what my first impressions are on the puppy wash and spray neutralizer.
If you are looking for some green products for your four legged family reach out to me!!❤
I am off today and made Kaeleigh help me clean her room. She is a 'collector' of all of the things, including trash that she holds memories to (pinecones, rocks, all scraps of paper, etc.). Well, it was out of hand, so we spent a while cleaning, going through stuff and tossing and organizing. This is the result... you can see her floor... and her pissed off on the bed because I threw out some old paper and a piece to her brother's curtain rod that I found in her closet, that she had apparently rescused at some point from our trash. Can't wait for her to be a teenager. Not. 🙄

YES I am married.
YES I am a busy mom of 3.
YES I do have a teenager.
YES I did have two kids in the last two years.
YES I do love myself enough to workout and eat healthy.
YES I do have plenty of excuses to not workout each day.
NO I don’t always want to workout.
NO I don’t always eat “HEALTHY”
NO I don’t do it for a bikini body.
NO I don’t feel guilty for taking time to take care of myself.
NO I don’t do it for vanity.
NO I don’t care what anyone else thinks about me or my lifestyle. .
Once you understand this about me I hope that it will help you understand that I do this to take care of my body because it’s the only one I’ve got. I want to live a long healthy life with a healthy strong mind as well. Because Alzheimer’s and cancer runs in my family. Once you see that I’m doing this for me and my family and that I want you to be the healthiest happiest version of you for you and your family I hope that you will stop worrying about spending a small amount of money (that you are going to spend anyway) and JUST DO IT! Do it for you. Do it for them. Do it for your future self. .
Now DM me and let’s make you happy for all the reasons.
Savannah Lou how are you a month already This has been the best month of my life. You have completely rocked my world and I thank God every day for bringing me you. I love you sweet girl.
We’ve barely gotten any snow this year- (what’s up with that!) so this was Ethan’s first fun snow experience. ❄️⛄️❄️
I first saw @littlepoppyco last year when I was pregnant with Mia and fell in love! So I got a few matching bows for the girls and told myself I would stop. But every month they are just so gorgeous I’ve kept my subscription. Besides, I have two girls now so can you really have too many bows #littlepoppyco #littlepoppycobows #lpcshowyourbows #girlmom #sisters
Once labor starts, a lot of first time moms head straight to the hospital. Little do they know once they arrive they will be mostly confined to the birth room or the hospital hallways. Second time moms will tell you to, “STAY HOME! As long as possible..” Labor is a lonnnngg process (typically), so try to stay home and relax, if possible.
When labor started with Harlie, I labored at home for 8 hours before heading to the birth center. I knew it was time to go because the contractions were intensifying and I could no longer talk, smile, or walk swiftly anymore during contractions. You can see the difference between video 1 and video 2.
Video 1 is early labor, which again lasted 8 hours. Video 2 was when I first arrived to the birth center and active labor was beginning. I was 4 cm dilated. It would be another 4 hours before Harlie was born (which is actually really fast, but I am a second time Mom).
1. Labor at home as long as possible in the comfort of your own home. You’ll be glad you did.
2. Stay active! Gravity will bring the baby down, so walk, walk, walk!
3. Enjoy the process 💕 These videos are precious to me. I love watching them to remember all the excitement and emotions that went into this day! .
Also, how massive is my belly! You’re looking 12.5 lbs of baby & placenta! 😆 And Chris and my midwife joked that it was “Club Coker” in the birth room because of my music choice! 🤣

Flipping through this new book while preparing for an upcoming podcast interview saying YES 🙌, #truth, and #preach page after page. I'm FOR sure adding this new book to this list of books I recommend for new mamas and bring them in their care package🎁 It's raw, real, and incredibly relatable.
Did you know that over 90% of new moms will have scary, intrusive thoughts about their baby and/or themselves Things like dropping their baby, snapping, doubting their decision to be a mom, and then feeling awful about it. Feeling scared to tell anyone, thinking they're not cut out for the job of being a mom. This is not true at all, mama! And you're certainly not alone!
The book features cartoons capturing struggles new mamas experience by @brooklyn_rabbit and expert advice and recommendations for these situations from Karen Kleiman of @postpartumstress who is one of my mentors and a leading expert in maternal mental health. The cartoons help illustrate the very real, difficult feelings and thoughts mamas are often not vocalizing.
Karen launched the #speakthesecret campaign which focuses on "shattering the myth that all new mothers feel wonderful about being mothers" to reduce shame and stigma so mamas can get the help they need and deserve.
Please consider preordering this book, mama. Even if you have a toddler, I think you'll find it really refreshing to know that you're not alone and get a lot from the activities and knowledge shared with the cartoons.
And look out for an interview on the @wholemamasclub podcast with Karen Kleiman. Hoping to team up with her to share how nutrition can play a pivital role in supporting new mamas during this season. 🙏🤞
Can you relate to the cartoon Swipe left. I know I sure can! 🤦♀️
Yes, we even shared the valentines love with our pets. .
We’re also going to extend it into a Valentine’s weekend rather than just a day because, we’ll why not It’s freezing, blustery and school was cancelled for what seems like the 100th time this season - what else do we have to do right now! This morning was heart shaped pancakes, red balloons and the girls watched the Pinkalicious Valentine special for the 5th time this week 😂
Now I just have to wait for an acceptable hour to pour myself a little glass of rose - that’s my pink valentines treat! 🥂💕
