Lately, I have noticed more often where my insecurities are. Whether they have developed overtime or have been with me throughout my life & are showing now due to varying situations ~ all I know, is that I am aware of what I need to improve on. (There will always be new things that arise, work on each one, one at a time!) By journaling your thoughts daily, you can pinpoint what your insecurities are & work on them. Research, trial & error different ways to help you. Help yourself heal. Because we all deserve to live our best, beautiful life.

This is the face of a tired doula on little coffee break, after about 8 hours of supporting an amazing first time mama.
A doula that watched her clients stand up for themselves in the birth space. ○
A doula that watched new parents be born. ☾
A doula that supported a birth for over 15 hours and would have stayed for 15 more hours if she needed to. ○
A doula with tears in her eyes when she thinks about how strong her client was last night. ☾
This is the face of a doula that also was elated to get home and curl up with her own babies. ○
A doula that was reminded last night that she is fulfilling her life’s calling with this work — work that doesn’t feel like work. ☾
This is also the face of a doula that is still on call and should be sleeping right now... .

Blue light emitted by the sun (during day time) can be beneficial to the body. It’s when we’re exposed to artificial blue light once the sun goes down that we begin to experience harmful effects.
Studies have shown that when we’re exposed to artificial blue light before sleeping, e.g from mobile devices, laptops, TV’s etc, it damages our sleep quality and can knock our circadian rhythm (bodies own natural clock) off track. Blue light disrupts melatonin production which is responsible for helping regulate your circadian circadian.
Melatonin helps regulate your body temperature, blood pressure, and hormone levels. Artificial blue light basically tricks your brain into still thinking it’s day time even after the sun has set and the night sky is present. When our circadian rhythms are aligned with that of the day and night cycle it is said that or sleep quality improves drastically.
Not only this, studies are now indicating that even some of out internal organs have their own circadian rhythms too, meaning they act different during different times of the day.
It’s important to reduce your blue light exposure at dark. This can be hard especially if your work is all based online using devices. You phone may have a Night Mode option, i advise using this. There is a video i posted a while back that has a more advanced way to reduce blue light on iPhone. Check it out if possible :)
