We skipped Friday as Will was feeling a bit poorly. Yesterday I went a 6 mile walk with my Mum to make up for it.

Tonight cheesy boi and I were back at it. Figured if we missed another night in a row we'd end up breaking the habit and falling off the fitness wagon. 
So we went. It's a cold, wet October evening here in Scotland, and because of this the gym was dead! So we did a bit of cycling to start, then some of the cable and weight machines and finished with a nice brisk uphill walk for 20 minutes! 
Feeling good, but I'm knackered!
Yoga tomorrow to stretch it all out!

Squat: 2x4, 4x3 310 RPE 9.5
Deadlift: 4x4 335 6.5-7

At first I wanted to hit 305 for squats cause I struggled with 5x4 with 300 the last time I squatted.. but program said to hit 310 so I did.. and boy was it hard 😰 I was only able to hit 2 sets of 4 and then I changed it up a bit and did a 4x3 for the remaining reps 😓

Deadlifts felt pretty smooth even after squatting. Still getting used to squatting and deadlifting all in the same day but after every leg day my legs are fried so I guess I’m doing something right? Had no time (or energy) to do accessories though so guess I gotta make it up on the next leg day 🤷‍♂️

The past couple days I’ve been in a weird headspace and haven’t been feeling motivated. This morning I barely made it to the gym and yesterday I couldn’t even get myself to leave my dorm room. Nothing is necessarily wrong, I just felt like I needed the time to myself to just relax and not be worried about my next step.

So often when people get into a fitness routine they feel guilty when they skip the gym or don’t keep busy everyday. What we need to remember is that your body needs rest and it will let you know when that time comes.

And even more importantly, when you take the time to rest, you will be able to see your progress better when you get back in the gym the next day! You’re body needs time off and if you let it rest, it will thank you more than you can imagine.
