Changing unproductive methods and means, such as sitting on the lounge watching television hours on in to productive ways, such as exercising, thus you are changing unconstructive habits. Who knows when you make these changes you may find a need to change some other behaviors and habits, such as deceptiveness, binge eating, smoking, desecration, etc to useful habits by developing a positive outlook. Even if these behaviors are not a problem for you, there is always room for improvement.🇬🇧⠀

🇪🇸 Los cambios son constructivos cuando realizas cambios prácticos que apuntan a resultados positivos,estos te ayudarán a eliminar esa mentalidad negativa que no te permite tener una personalidad o actitud útil.⠀

Cambiar los métodos y medios improductivos, como sentarse en la sala de estar viendo horas de televisión de a una hora de hacer ejercicio, seguro que cuando realices estos cambios, puede encontrar la necesidad de cambiar algunos otros comportamientos y hábitos, como el engaño, los atracones, el tabaquismo, etc. a hábitos útiles mediante el desarrollo de una actitud positiva. Cold Water Treatment! ✌🏻🤪🥶

Just finished a 10 minute post workout cold water treatment.
•
This one was in a pool.
•
However you can also implement this in a shower or bathtub.
•
If you are new to this, here are a few things you should know.
•
1) Start slowly- in other words, start in a shower with cold water for 30 second, then work your way up to a few minutes.
•
2) Once you build up then you can move on to a cold bath, pool, or cold river/lake. It’s important to have someone with you when you take it up to this level.
•
3) Breathing is everything. Before, during and after! It’s important to relax your body and mind prior to doing this.
•
4) When you go into really cold water/ice baths you will feel like you are dying! In fact, your body doesn’t know the difference so it responds as if you are dying.
•
5) Let me know below if you have tips, questions or anything you would like to share related to this!

In fact, your good habits can look like a daily walk with your sweet little dog to this garden. (That's what one of my habits looks like.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When I tell people I teach something called Habit School, I often get responses like: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

"Oh God, you're going to tell me I have to run, like, seven miles a day, seven days a week, right?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

"Are you going to make me wake up at 4:30 am to meditate for an hour?"⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you don't like salads, there are plenty of other ways to build a 'more produce' habit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you don't want to give up your daily latte, there are other ways to build a 'mindful spending' habit. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you hate gyms, there are soooo many other ways to build a 'more movement' habit. @katiehawk built a 10k steps a day habit from what she learned in Habit School!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

My point is: Habits don't have to suck. You don't have to be miserable while pursuing your goals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

As Maltz was operating his patients in the Fifties, he noticed that it took them about 21 days to adjust to their new situation. For example, it would take 21 days for a patient who received a nose job to get used to their new face, and it took 21 days for a patient that had a limb amputated to stop feeling their phantom limb. This brought him to the conclusion that it requires a minimum of about 21 days for an old mental image to dissolve and a new one to form.⁠

His work became so popular that it started to inspire the self-help philosophy of many writers and speakers, and as the information went from mouth to mouth it lost part of its truth. The “it takes a minimum of 21 days” was turned into “it takes 21 days to form a new habit”. And as often is the case in popular culture, the more an information is repeated, and the more people repeat it, the more everyone else is likely to believe it. So it was that the 21 days myth spread disseminating frustration among all those who realized they actually couldn’t introduce a new habit within this timeframe. For how appealing the idea of creating a better self in just 21 days may be, it simply isn’t correct. So how long does it really take to form a new habit?⁠

I'm more likely to numb out with a bag of pizza rolls, in front of 7 episodes of Parks and Rec. 📺⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I'm more likely to fall down an social media hole, scrolling through posts that absolutely make me feel bad. 😒⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

But since I've taken the time to identify my triggers, I can create a contingency plan. I can see the hurdle coming and I can jump over it (or, like, dodge it, at least). 🏃‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

☝️ This is a photo of one of my triggers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Yes! Really! Overcast skies - especially a multi-day string of them - are one of the things that trigger my less-awesome, less-intentional self. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm more likely to numb out with a bag of pizza rolls, in front of 7 episodes of Parks and Rec. 📺⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm more likely to fall down an social media hole, scrolling through posts that absolutely make me feel bad. 😒⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But since I've taken the time to identify my triggers, I can create a contingency plan. I can see the hurdle coming and I can jump over it (or, like, dodge it, at least). 🏃‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I natter on about this to my Habit School and Bank Boost students all the time. Being inactive causes circulation problems like swelling. .
When you walk, the blood is pumped back towards your heart and swelling will be reduced. .
Putting your feet up for just ten minutes a day can also help. .
Lie down and make sure your feet are raised higher than your heart.

People lie all the time and say things just to appease others. You can only learn about a person’s true character by watching their behaviors toward you and toward others. If we give off two contradictory messages, verbal and nonverbal, people will have the tendency to believe the nonverbal over the verbal.⁠⠀

The way people conduct themselves in different situations is a greater determinant of behavior and character than the words through which they choose to express themselves. What you do holds much more significance than what you say.⁠⠀

For 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚, the act of teaching a lesson demonstrates how effective this concept is. People want to have a leader whom they can admire that fulfills their common goals. Unsettle me in the best kind of way. For when I allow Your touch to reach the deepest parts of me — dark and dingy and hidden away too long — suddenly, a fresh wind of life twists and twirls and dances through my soul.

I can delight in hope that this is my year to change. 
I can discover reasons to appreciate my body and find softer ways for my thoughts to land. 
I can recognize the beauty of discipline and crave the intimacy with God it unleashes. 
I can rest assured though the journey will be hard, I will be held.

Goodbye to my remnants, my justification, shards, and tendencies. This is not who I am — nor who I was created to be.

Goodbye to shallow efforts, self-focus, and suspicious fears that I’ll never find victory in this area of my life. I am an unsettled woman who no longer wishes to take part in 
distractions or destructions.

I feel like this is just an automated response in my head that isn’t necessarily a negative context, but changing it could definitely be improved with rethinking it. Even simple errands such as “oh I HAVE to go to the bank to deposit that check”. When really “I GET to go to the bank”. One word brightens up the context to remind me that I’m putting money in the bank to help me reach financial freedom!  #nerdkrampus

But if you’re surrounded by people who place value in going to the gym, or yoga or running, and they too spend time doing some type of physical activity, it will be so much easier to make that a part of your daily routine.
