Typical Thursday is my day off, so I make sure to line my leg days up so I can put great focus on the quality of my lifts and form.
Well, I crashed pretty early last night, and work up earlier for a day off today. Felt good, so used that time to hit the gym.
I’m humbled to say that today was my weakest leg day in a while. Squats weren’t moving very comfortably with much weight at all, I felt winded early on, fatigue was real, so today was a strict focus on form, contraction, eccentric control, breathing patterns, and just getting a deload style workout in.
Didn’t load weight on anything, and even went as far doing unilateral movements to focus on building up my weaker leg (as @89afsoldier has helped identify by watching my videos and being the best “chi-bro” ever 😏) (yes I just made a chiropractor bro word up for him lmao)
This was a humbling workout because normally- I’d be discouraged. I’d get down on myself because I’ve brought significantly better performance to my workouts, as of recently. To take that step back, give my body this sort of break will help mold a better result in my performance and my physique as @hollidaybam and I focus on getting me nasty lean.
Don’t be afraid or discouraged by taking a step back. These days play a huge role for us physically but also mentally as we grow.
Life is about growth. Being humble enough to lay off the gas in the sense of pushing yourself and understanding that sometimes this is necessary is growth in it’s own way.
