When you don't match, you begin the Supplemental Offer and Acceptance Program (SOAP). SOAP is one of those things you wouldn't wish on your worst enemy. It's a grueling week of stress and uncertainty that you have to endure in order to hopefully be offered an unfilled residency position. I wish more people talked about SOAP but I understand why they don't. It's usually attached to a lot of negative feelings. I've done it four times and it's no walk in the park. But, at the end of the day if you get through it successfully you'll have a great opportunity to make your dreams into really.
Don't be ashamed of you don't achieve things in the conventional manner. If they won't let you in the front door, sneak in through the back. If you can't sneak in through the back, climb through an open window. If all the windows are closed, get some bricks and build your dream the way you see it. Then sit back and watch them come to you.
PS. This is my theme song for 2019. Lol #SupaDupaDoc

Good Afternoon my Friends...So a lot of people are so scared of hyperglycaemia (excessive blood sugar) and less concerned about hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar) without knowing that hypoglycaemia is also a dangerous medical condition on its own.
What is hypoglycemia It means low blood sugar (usually less than 70mg/dl or 3.8mmol/L) in a known diabetic/ (less than 50mg/dl or 2.8mmol/L in a non-diabetic) after exercise or not eating.
Causes- Not eating ontime, kidney problems, pancreatic cancer, liver problems, infection, thyroid problems, certain drugs and alcohol.
Symptoms-hunger, weakness, palpitations, anxiety, shakiness, sweating, pallor, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, headache, seizures in extreme cases
It's important for you to have a glucometer at home to check your blood sugar if you have such symptoms mentioned above.
What to do-if your blood sugar is low...please take a food or drink rich in sugar or glucose and then measure your blood sugar with the glucometer 30mins after. Your blood sugar should be back to normal levels and symptoms should be subsiding or have subsided. Don't forget to see your doctor. It's very important. Thanks

Try beginning your day with an “I GET to” rather than “I HAVE to” mentality.
I GET to go spend my day learning. I GET to have a busy day working towards my future.
In the middle of the chaos I have to remind myself to simply change my perspective and realize how truly blessed I am to be where I’m at.
Have a great week everyone!

Sometimes (okay, most of the time...) you just gotta throw your hair up in a messy bun & grab some coffee & do the damn thing!
Over the past few days I’ve been thinking about how happy, and grateful I am that I made the decision to go after my dreams & stop holding myself back from what I deserve.
🌻 We all deserve to go after our dreams
🌻 We all deserve to be part of a community that supports us
🌻 We all deserve to have a job that we love
🌻 We all deserve to be happy & healthy
Stop thinking you don’t deserve MORE! Because I’m telling you that you do.

I spotted the elusive Matt Hancock at this Spectator event this morning. Another tedious speech about public private partnership and flooding the NHS with tech innovation. He must have cotton wool in his ears because he’s clearly not hearing #patients or #doctors or #oncologists or #nurses or any #healthcareprofessionals at all when we’re all calling for the same thing - more and better staff and truckloads more funding! #showmethemoney
