Our British culture uses food to celebrate everything. When we are happy we eat, sad we eat, have a special occasion - let’s go for food. Sitting in for movie night, bring the snacks…it’s always the same. Our social occasions all centre around food, no matter what they are.

It’s only natural we have adapted to ’emotional eating’. By this I mean using food to calm your nerves, when you are sad, when you are stressed. It’s engrained within us from the day we are born.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So, how do you get out of the habit? First up, you need to be self-aware of your food habits. Are you even aware of your emotional eating behaviours?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Once you have identified your behaviours it’s easier to take them under control. I used to be really bad for stress eating, I would notice myself snacking all day and then finally catch myself. It wasn’t until I caught myself I became aware of what I was actually doing. Once you identify the pattern it becomes easier to notice. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In order to break the cycle I used to practice writing ‘I am not a stress eater’ every day. I get out of my headspace and practice breathing, clearing my head and changing my environment. I still have to give myself some serious self talk and of course, drink some extra water. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Emotional eating takes a long time to overcome - MONTHS! It’s not going to just go away. You have to be willing to work at it to change your overall lifestyle and approach to food.

Spin it around, and you don’t know the consequences of not putting effort into yourself. The consequence of not being healthy. The consequence of not being happy. ⠀

You haven’t truly felt what that will look like, or you would already be taking steps and making change. ⠀

So let’s enjoy the holidays on the DAY instead of eating cookies and candy for 2 MONTHS! ✨ 5 days of not being “on point” WILL NOT derail the progress you are making 💪🏻 so let’s vow to start working on your goals NOW instead of waiting til 2020. Let’s finish this year STRONG and head into the new year already crushing those goals!

Today was a good day! I woke up late so I did a transform 20 workout instead of 80 day Obsession. And oh my! @shaunt will always be the king of cardio! No other workouts get your heart pumping as much as his! I really do love a good cardio workout. AND My dress pants I haven’t worn since the early 2000’s fit!!! Yay!!! I love non-scale victories! 💕

This week has been a week of reflection. I’m starting to see results and loving working out in the morning. It’s truly become a habit. And I was thinking that often people say there’s no secret. Well I disagree. The secret for me this time has been to stop watching the scale. When I stopped caring about number I saw and instead focused on getting stronger and pushing harder I started seeing results. I feel better. I made it a habit & honestly my body looks better stronger than just skinny. Start focusing on what your body can do. Enjoy the blessing of health you’ve been giving. Don’t give up! You are worth it! 💕

After the first retreat I asked the lovely ladies to complete a survey, I was so excited to read them that I did it that same night. The only thing better than standing in front of a group of like-minded, passionate and happy women is seeing the smiles on their faces at the end of the day. After the first retreat I asked the lovely ladies to complete a survey, I was so excited to read them that I did it that same night. TEARS were strolling down my face from reading how much they all enjoyed the day, how good they felt about themselves after & how so many of them wanted more more and more True Retreats. THIS IS MY WHY ☺️
