Today marks 2.5 years and the picture below represents more than I can begin to tell you.
Over 15 years in the Medical Field and I thought I was doing good. I thought I was helping others, I thought that Health Care was the way to impact my own life and those around me. But March 17, 2017 is the day it all started to change.
I was the unhealthiest I had ever been in my life. 35 years old, 204 pounds, cholesterol at 269 and pre-diabetic. My marriage was failing, I was disengaged with my son and I just wanted to sleep the days away. The "Dark Cloud" reigned over ever aspect of my world.
Then life started to change. I started my journey to health and lost 10 pounds my first week, my energy shot through the gates and my body and mind started to feel like Anica again. In under 6 months, I lost over 70 pounds. But what I received back was more than I could ever imagine.
I felt GREAT in my own skin, my thoughts and head-space was different, I learned tools on how to manage my stress, marriage and daily life, I started to get back to things like Softball, Hiking and playing with our son in the backyard. My world was changing and I learned that I had been Sleep Walking through life for the last 20 years and letting it run me.
Today, my world and those around me have changed in ways that I never dreamed possible being in the "Sick Care System". In our Lifestyle Program, we found HEALTH, ABUNDANCE and JOY. We found the "Health Care System". Now, our marriage is thriving, our son gets his best parents and LIFE is about living and doing what makes us joyful.

Have you ever been called OCD for genuinely being interested in what it means to live a healthy lifestyle Well, I have. I think there is a bad connotation around making healthy choices. "Live your life" "can't you have fun" But, I do 😂 I LIKE eating healthy, I LIKE working out and I LIKE motivating others to do so as well. So if you hang around people who don't want to fuel their bodies correctly or be physically active, instead of succumbing to peer pressure, make them come to your level and choose a restaurant with healthier options or play basketball instead of video games... Peer pressure can go either way, so next time, help other's enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

As you know, this almost never ends well.
Either an argument of frustration erupts or someone finally picks something and the other person doesn’t want that and often it leads to a very disappointing meal and lower vibrations which all suck. 🧡💛💚💙💜🕉💜💙💚💛🧡 Make a point to make a decision for yourself. Just throw out the first thing that comes to your mind. Not only are you practicing making decisions but by going with the first thing that pops up you’re also exercising your intuition which is going to help you keep the positive momentum flowing and growing. 🧡💛💚💙💜🕉💜💙💚💛🧡 No one likes or wants to make decisions. We all, for the most part, just want someone to tell us what to do. Take the initiative to be the one deciding and people will both thank and look up to you for it. My system for solving this issue is to just pick a place I've been enjoying lately and everytime someone asks me where to eat I say that. Eventually they'll catch on it's always the same suggestion, at which point they can either agree or throw out another suggestion. When I get tired of this place I'll choose another for a while. The important thing is that decisions are being made. How do you handle this situation
The workplace is an easy place to fall off track with your nutrition.
At school us teachers are constantly being tempted by donuts in the lounge and students who bring treats for their birthdays.
Once in a while it never hurts to indulge, but I’ve noticed that these sweet treats are around more than just once in a while.
I’m sure you all can relate to whatever it may be in your office or job!
My advice for you, if you are TRULY looking to feel better and more healthy, is to choose one of those treats once a week. Instead of the donuts and the birthday treat, maybe just choose the birthday treat and leave it at that.
Pack healthy lunches that will give you good energy and help you feel satisfied! For me that’s a meal that consists of a complete protein source, and a balance of carbs and fats!
I thought it would be so hard to stay on track now that I’m beginning my career, but it really isn’t!

We are legitimately beginning to build ongoing relationships with schools and even a potential partnering with a school next year for constant and regular sessions for students, staff and parents! So important to impact the whole community of the school 😊🤙🏼

NSV: This is what I wore to work today! Yes, it's a jumpsuit!! 😁 I've never owned one before, but this summer, I've had to get a whole new wardrobe for work because nothing I had fit properly. I saw this jumpsuit and thought, "Why not It's cute!" One of the biggest gains in my health journey has been a newfound confidence 🙌🏻 I love having the confidence to step out of my comfort zone, branch out and try new things, and wear whatever I want 😎❤
