What does living a healthy life look like for you Over the years, this is something that I have been working on & continue to do so. Obviously eating right and exercising (physical aspect) were the first that I focused on. However, to fully embrace a healthy living lifestyle, I realize there’s so much more. To me it encompasses being well rounded overall, which again for me means 🌱physical,
🌱spiritual and 🌱financial health.
Some come more easily to work on then others, 😉 but I can always tell when I need to step up my focus and intention on those I’m lacking. Today as I attended my church (that I was introduced to a few years ago by my dear friend @lindabushcannon), this along with one or two more aspects are what I strive to improve on in 2019. I’ve been utilizing my lunch breaks at work to exercise because let’s be honest, as a busy mom, it’s hard to “add” it into my day. On my other 4 days that I’m not at work, I utilize naptime! ❤️ No I don’t exercise everyday but it is a process to build a habit. I would like to get to the point where I do some form of exercise everyday. It feels SO good to move my body but... full disclosure... sometimes I get lazy and just want to sit on the couch. ❤️
I would love some tips from you all on how you keep yourself motivated to exercise everyday!! I know you have to work on motivation daily and remind yourself of your goals, so often I’ll head over to see @annie_fitlifefitme 4am workout or @namastewithfitness before-work workout to motivate me! These women are incredible and don’t let excuses get in their way! 💪🏻

Then came "diet" culture that bulldozed this knowledge right out of our minds. Leaving us with tons of anxiety over what we can and can't eat, how much we can eat, and how dare we eat certain foods or have more.
What if I told you there's another way
There's a way to overcome what we've been taught and get us back to the basics. Instead of a number or restriction put on our food, we instead learn WHY we eat certain foods and when to eat them to satisfy what our body needs. Leaving the anxiety and negative relationship with food behind.

For the love of green lentils pasta. I tossed this with free from” basil pesto, edamame beans and crushed garlic and topped with basil leaves and cherry tomatoes.
100g green lentil penne
. . .
2tbs “free from” basil pesto
1 garlic clove
1/4tsp coconut oil to fry
125g edamame beans
Cherry tomatoes and fresh basil leaves for toppings . . .
Cook the pasta according to the instructions on the packet
Once cooked, fry the garlic in the coconut oil until aromatic and then toss with the pesto, garlic and edamame beans
Garnish with cherry tomatoes and basil leaves or other toppings of choice.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, friends!
I honestly support the theory that the cause of health issues many face today is because of the decrease in soil quality and the increase in use of pesticides. My family and I have been eating organic for years now. Last year I studied growing our own produce and today we finally built our garden with chemical free, untreated wood. Our soil was created using all organic products with nutrient dense minerals which will be absorbed by our plants and then provide us with nutrient dense meals. I have personally learnt that the quality of our food plays an enormous role in how we feel, function and look 🕉

Diary day 7
Day 15/100: started day one of my green smoothie detox which I’ll post a recipe and more details of tomorrow 💚 went and ended my night with some cardio. Gonna start pushing myself a little more, hopefully to see change quicker.
There are two basic things I know I must do to be at my best and have glowy skin: ⠀

I didn't want to workout today.
But then I remembered that 4 years ago TODAY, I did the HARDEST part of my entire journey: I STARTED.
January 19, 2015, I ordered my Healthy Journey Starter Kit from my coach.
Shawn and I didn’t really have the $140 to buy my kit, but it was REALLY IMPORTANT TO ME, I’d been talking about it for over a month, so we moved some money around to make it happen.
We had just purchased The Playhouse on January 2nd. We were in a huge, very scary transition in our life, but there was something so HOPEFUL about the idea that I could feel better in my body.
Deep down, I knew I couldn’t take care of my new business if I wasn’t taking care of myself.
Did I lose 60 pounds right away
Did I lose 5 pounds right away
But I started my BABY STEPS, and every day it got easier to make healthy choices, especially with the help of my coach and her online community.
I started drinking more water. Then I started drinking a Superfood Shake every day. Then (months later) I started a dance workout program at home. Then (over a year later) I started paying attention to my nutrition.
It’s still not always easy, especially on days like today when I wake up with cramps after not sleeping well all night, still have a cold (yes, third one since Thanksgiving), and know I have a long weekend ahead at The Playhouse with yucky weather in the forecast.
So, I thought, “What would I tell one of coaching clients”
THE ONLY WORKOUT YOU’LL EVER REGRET IS THE ONE YOU DIDN’T DO!
So, I put on my workout clothes, drank my Power Potion, and pressed play.
NO REGRETS on this anniversary of STARTING…
Except that I didn’t START sooner.

How to live a health life:
Diet: a balanced diet, 80/20 rule
Adequate sleep: 6 to 8 hours
Exercise: moving your body! .
When people ask me what are some tips for weight loss and for optimal digestion I ask them to assess their lifestyle. Are they moving/exercising every day or almost every day Or do they sit at a desk for 10+ hours a day with little to no movement. What’s their diet like Can it be changed/modified Do they gravitate towards eating the same foods, every day Do they tend to drinking the same beverages every day How much sleep do they get Burning the midnight oil and not sleeping increases inflammation and leads to weight gain. There’s loads of scientific research on this. .
What I tell my clients is to capture a food and lifestyle diary or log for three to five days. Be honest and real with yourself. Write down what you eat, what you drink, your lifestyle habits, hours of sleep you get per night and exercise activity. The results may surprise you. .

I’m feeling very grateful today. One of the unspoken fears of becoming a stay at home mom is that we will become obsolete, forgotten.
