It seems like everyone has an opinion on the best way to eat or exercise for optimal health or physical appearance.
As someone who has knowledge in the field of exercise and nutrition, I personally chose to stick to the basics. I drink water, eat veggies, and move my body.
Isn’t it funny how these things are advocated by every health/fitness program, but the focus is on other areas that often contradict each other What if we all just focused on the basics instead and didn’t worry about the carbs, gluten, fat, calories, meat, miles, lbs, workouts, etc

No. It’s not ideal that he woke up and joined my workout. BUT I would not have had these moment with him if he didn’t. He’s not my excuse or my inconvenience. .
He’s my cheerleader, my partner, and my motivation. .
He spent the workout under my feet, bringing me toys, and trying to steal my weights....I was a little annoyed until he said “Mommy AGAIN!” when I slowed down. .
Then he realized he could do what I was doing. I could not be more happy about it the example I’m setting. .

I like keeping things simple. Simple ingredients, which can be thrown together in minutes, and still satisfy my taste buds. I save the more complex cooking for Sundays. I have found this to be the only way I can maintain a healthier lifestyle and it's definitely worked longterm (8+ years now) 💪🏻🙏🏼

So I've even been caught lately saying, "the average person gains 8-10 pounds between Halloween and New Year's Day!" 😮 Well I just read a New York Times article from last year stating the average is actually 1.5pounds. The culprit being stress, fatigue, carb-loading and decreased hydration. The point is, you need to partner with a support system over the holidays! 🙋🏻♀️ Support, accountability and a little sprinkle of tough love is just what one might need to get through this. Nervous about starting before the holidays I started December 12, 2017. I was about 14lbs lighter come January 1!!🎯. Let's get going now, there will always be a bad timing excuse. #beckyforhealth
This ain’t no diet baby.
This is a lifestyle.
This is new habit forming, different choices, working your ass off type of change. Learning what works and what doesn’t.
But my success isn’t just what I see on the scale. It’s how I feel, my energy levels, improvement in my skin, my sleep, my mood and most importantly how my children benefit from all that I have learned over the past 8 years.
This doesn’t happen over night but it is possible- I challenge you to start making small changes today!
What change you have made that has made the most difference
I have experienced more and more that most people who want to change something in their lives get in their own way. They don't go for it 100%, they don't see it, they don't believe it... It is their paradigm, their belief system, their mindset all programmed from a long time ago. The good news is that they can change it instantly. What can speed it up is the type of people you surround yourself with, the type of people you listen to and study..... What also can speed it up is spending alone time... Time to challenge beliefs, paradigms and focus on what you want versus what is not happening.. Many people do not know how to do this... Going back to law of association.... Those you surround yourself with can do 1 or 2 things.... 1.. They can magnify your goals, dreams and change.... or 2... They can destroy them....

Of course not! I don't want to keep seeing all of the posts about people being sick! Your lifestyle can greatly impact how well your immune system can protect you from germs, viruses, and chronic illness. 😷🤧🤕 Get more sleep😴, stop eating/drinking so much sugar🤐, reduce stress, have a healthy bacteria balance in your gut, and laugh more🤣..... all of those boost your immune system!
Sugar is the enemy! Eating or drinking too much sugar curbs immune system cells that attack bacteria. This effect lasts for at least a few hours after downing a couple of sugary drinks. Is that short term satisfaction really worth what sugar does to your body and waist line - I don't think so!
Not getting enough sleep can lead to higher levels of a stress hormone. It may also lead to more inflammation in your body. Although researchers aren’t exactly sure how sleep boosts the immune system, it’s clear that getting enough - usually 7 to 9 hours for an adult - is key for good health. I average 7 hours a night!
If you have trouble sleeping, I can help you with that. You need to balance your body and gut! You are probably magnesium deficient too! ( About 75% of people are)
Replacing bad habits with good healthy ones can help keep your immune system healthy.

Oh, #transformationtuesday - it’s been a while! Usually we like to think of a transformation as this wonderful self-improvement of mind, body and spirit. But I’ll be honest with ya here. Though my 2019 vacation body is a little different from my 2017 postpartum body, there’s little else about me that feels dramatically changed in the last two years. 🤷🏻♀️
But there’s more to that. When I first dove into @toneitup in 2014, it was the FIRST time I’d felt any amount of body confidence. And as I kept up with the community, that self-acceptance just continued to grow. That’s what happens when you have a community full of supportive, empowering, like-minded women in your corner! They give you that boost 💗👯♀️✨
Come baby number two, I’d learned to love myself enough to drop most of those awful, self conscious feelings and just LIVE. I didn’t obsess so much. I ate the pizza and cookie dough. I drank the beer. And ya know what I still feel pretty dang good in my own skin. The best part about this two year transformation is that I’m still very much me. Just an awkward goof, casually picking a swimsuit wedgie with a beer (classily nuzzled in a coozie) in hand. I will never be perfectly put together, and I’m totally okay with that. My people love me anyway! 🤪
I hope you know how amazing you are, JUST as you are, in this very moment. Because learning to love that person is the first step to living your best life. And you deserve that more than you know 💖

You’ve heard it said... what a difference a year makes! Woowee! This is a serious transformation! Christmas pics last year versus this year. 🙀
What you can see is the physical. What you can’t see in this picture is the inside. In that first picture I was still figuring out life with two kids- a wild, beautiful yet needy 2 year old and a fresh little newborn! I was surviving in the day to day but I had lost myself. I was pouring every ounce of me into my family andI was ignoring my own needs.
I thought becoming a mom just meant that my needs came last (or never). That was what being selfless meant. And in a way it does, but also it’s about serving and loving my family with the best of me. But I couldn’t give them the best of me because I was barely making it. I didn’t recognize myself in the mirror and I had started to lose my identity in my kids.
So I take care of myself, so that I can be my best for my family. Now sometimes my best is still an impatient, frazzled mess, but hey I’m human. 🤷🏻♀️ But I finally feel like I’ve found myself. I want to be a strong, healthy, Jesus-lovin mama who loves fiercely and set that example for my family.
For now I will keep on keepin on!
