Last week I spent the day exploring around Vancouver with @pete_ohara
It seems I never have enough time in Vancouver, perhaps that’s my poor time management or perhaps it’s just because there is SO much to explore!
The PNW moody vibe was in full effect having rained solidly all night and I’m thankful we decided against a coffee shop and edit kinda day! 🤘🏼
This had to be one of my favourite getaways. Everything about this trip was wonderbar👌🏽

DOUBLE BOTTLE RELEASE // Christmas comes early as we have two Bois Sauvage series beers hitting shelves in the tasting room today!
First up is Assemblage 2019 - A tri-blend of vintages from our barrel room produced a perfect balance of stone fruit, tartness and acidity. Mineral characteristics with apricot on the nose and after taste. 6.5% Effervescent, funky, tart.
The second release is our Desolation Sound Dark Saison - Light in body, dry in finish, this beer is a Saison first. Elevated bready notes due to the addition of midnight wheat in the mash. Foeder aging allows for the Brett character to really shine through and of course that Powell River terroir of red berries on the nose. 6.5% - Dry, Fruity, Funky.
We hope you enjoy these two as much as we have. Enjoy, and let us know what you think!

Golden light just before sunset ✨
Continuing with posting images from journeys this fall along the Kicking Horse River.
It had rained a couple of days before I had the opportunity to get to this place, knowing that the smooth eroded concave areas would still have water in them. The options for compositions were unlimited, and when that happens, I like to just sit and take it all in for a while before choosing a few angles. In this image, I tried to gain a measure of balance between the seven water pools, thinking at the time of how a large format (32" x 48") print would pretty much mimic the size of the subject itself.
If one wishes to get different experiences and different subjects for their photography that only other continents can bring, you might decide to travel far to do so. However, what this series of images of the Kicking Horse River is partially about is to realize that one can always discover new and worthwhile opportunities for photography by seeking more local landscapes. While I will likely in the future get on a jet to see a few different areas, it will be the exception for sure as I think that Greta and all those scientists are giving us some good advice for a few course corrections.
Battery died before I took the 800 pics I’d wanted to, so this’ll have to do. Was a heck of a way to wake up this morning 🌅

international men’s day was yesterday.
on our journey to equality, I’d like to celebrate the men in my life who make such a positive impact on me and those around them. without this love, trust, encouragement and inclusiveness I would not be the woman I am today.
to my grandad, my dad, my amazing partner, my uncles, and all the men who’ve been my friend, worked alongside me, and those who made sure I feel like part of the family.. thank you for all playing a special role in my development to being the best version of Vee I can be.
thank you for the late night DD drives. thank you for waiting outside my door until I was safe inside. thank you for pushing me out of my comfort zone. thank you for standing up for my honour. thank you for making me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry. thank you for holding me while I cry anyway. thank you for seeing potential in me that I couldn’t see myself. thank you for making me realize that I matter and can make a difference. thank you for listening. thank you for spending quality time with me. thank you for making sure I feel like “one of the boys”. thank you for always seeing how you can do better. thank you for supporting me no matter how crazy the dream is. thank you for loving me.
Obsessed with the place! Natural Bridge was breathtaking. We went here on Monday and spent hours here. Even built a snowman (swipe to see, also swipe for a close up)
