Thanks for having us play at the Continental. We are now sliding into Christmas merriment despite all that has passed in the last couple of days. Thanks to all who have supported us through this year and here’s to the next. And here’s to humanity. We pledge to do , say, affect and change as much as we can through music and performance. Love and peace to you all. It’s not #BlackHistoryMonth, but when you feel gratitude, you share it. This is the one and only #CathyHughes @urbanmediamaven of @radioonelife. In 1999 she became the first African American woman to take her company public to be traded on the #stockexchange. #RadioOne is well weaved into our culture as #BlackPeople and in our lives as #Americans. I do not know this incredible woman, personally. However, as we all aspire to take our businesses to levels beyond our largest #dreams. Let us not forget that people are #doingit, have #doneit and want us to #doit too. We are not alone. Just giving #flowers in #life. #MirrortoMirror #M2M #M2Mbeads #BeFlawless #GiveThanks #HERstory is #history #radioone

My Final Piece - celebrating their powerful women of Huddersfield who helped us get the equal vote to men.
Placards displaying names and facts whilst also being interactive. The hat can be taken off and worn to take a photo in front of the Mechanics Institution, where some meetings were held.
This project earned me a 1st so I’m very pleased with it 🤗 .

This week I've been reading "Women's Lives and Clothes in WW2" by @historywardrobe (published by @penswordbooks ). I devoured it in one sitting and have started reading it for the 2nd time already! This book seeks to represent and explore women's lives during WW2 internationally by focussing on textiles as tactile memories, narratives and herstory. Textiles (from clothes through to quilts, home sewing through to dolls, buttons through to darning mushrooms) all-too-often outlive their owner and those same textiles hold meanings, clues and stories about, and from, that person. Each and every rip, stain, mend, stitch, button, fabric choice, mark, and pattern is another detail of that person's life. I find it humbling, fascinating and captivating to read! -
I wanted to stitch this hexie as part of my #stitchedreflections. For uni I am making a stitched reflections quilt of my literature readings so that I know I am actively engaging with the words rather than passively reading....plus I'll get a quilt at the end of it so it is a double win!
-
I used this fabric from the "Stitch in Time" collection by @makoweruk because it represents the multiplicity of textiles that @historywardrobe uses throughout her book....fashion, dressmaking, buttons, patchwork and more. All of these items have stories, meanings and memories. -
-
I am stitching the next hexie as we speak (I think there'll be quite a few as there is so much in this book that has made me stop and think...!)

To all the allegedly well-educated women who bash feminism and don’t want to be associated with it ... never forget who fought for your rights. If you refuse to identify as a feminist, that’s on you. Don’t be thankless though. You are where you are because of the women who sacrificed to be able to use the word you are now embarrassed of.

Indira Gandhi
1917-1984

Small part of the visual image what my course is directed towards which will come avail in Januari.
This scene happened only a couple of centuries ago, they officially say that the ancient civilizations where thousands of years ago, however mudflood and other valid proofs tell otherwise. The crossings where giants petrified and became the rocks and mountains stood still in time multi-dimensional, in another timeframe they still are alive. Giant beings from the ocean that and the shiny sun transitions into the black sun 2012-2021 the sun of the unconscious of our inner cavern that is slowly coming into full orbit. FRIDAY THE 13TH ✨, hot off of the full moon in Gemini and 12:12:12:12 portal of connection . FRIDAY is the day of the week associated with Venus, the planet of love, of beauty and divine feminine. 13 is a sacred number in mystical womxn's traditions. It is associated with the 13 lunar cycles, & 13 menses cycles per year for womxn. 13 is celebrated in connection to the Goddess archetype — the Divine Feminine — and physical regeneration. A theory on why the number 13 is considered unlucky is, well, because of the fucking patriarchy, it's representation of all things feminine , many believe that the mystical number reflects women's oppression. 13 is also the traditional number of a coven , a group of women who gather to celebrate Earth based traditions through ritual , meditation, & dance. Women were the original healers of all villages and only barely tolerated until men got a hold on their own medical practices.Women who practice healing were know as heretics, witches and murdered publically. A gov't sanctioned crusade against women ... Male dominated storytelling, became superstition, The number became an omen . Magickal practices enhance one’s innate energetic abilities, while superstitions suppress individual powers.
Research the least talked about gendercide in all of history. There is a pattern of white male Patriarchal figures dominating all women, and cultures with their hysterical superstitions, lies and control .
Friday the 13th is a day of divine femininity, a day for love and even a day to be lucky. 💞✨💞✨

Why are men constantly telling women how to be?
What gives us the right? Do we actually believe that we are superior beings? We came from a woman yet our society treats women like badly.
Women are constantly in the shadows of men, like the sun is shining from us.
The planet is sick because of men not women.
Matriarchal societies throughout #herstory are the most peaceful with the least poverty. What do evil men do, Rape, murder, theft and oppression.
Why do we follow men who want to blow the world up for oil?
Think about it for a second, does it make any sense that the planet is being destroyed... From the moment a woman is born we are telling her she needs to get married.
We focus on her looks, many women are negatively self conscious by the time they reach puberty.
Why do we teach women to aspire to marriage but we don't teach men the same? We teach women that they can't be sexual beings, yet we can do as we please.
We teach women to call other women b*tches and hoes casually... you can understand why this is destructive.
Fellas if you don't have a number of women you can call on in times of need, you don't have a full team.
The man dem can provide you with physical support, yet there is more to life than that. You need emotional support and balance.
We are all emotional beings, if you think you aren't then you are a sociopath or have major issues.
Every single revolution has had women fighting along side the men. Women are half of your team and the only providers of life.
If you are against oppression then it starts at home.
Be a man.
If women don't respect you then you will end up a very lonely man.
A King needs a Queen not a bunch of goons that oppress women. #chakabars
