Trying out this new place✨🧚♀️
1. Poached chinese perch fillet with szechuan pepper broth (火燒桂花魚) - its a relatively small portion of #水煮魚 compared to what you have out there. Fillet’s nice and tender. The broth could have been more flavourful - best thing about the dish is that they’ve added turnip in and it goes so well with the flat noodles in it.
2. Smoked cage-free duck eggs with manchuria roe and hwa tiao (花雕魚籽滷水燻蛋) as appetizer - probs my favourite dish. Hwa tiao very nicely infused.
3. Australian #wagyu beef #charsiu with shredded scallion sauce - the iconic dish at John Anthony. It gives a rather complicated feeling on your palette - it feels like pork on its barbecued exterior and the after taste has hints of beefy flavor. The ginger paste that goes along it makes you feel like youre having chicken Lol. 🐮🐷🐔🤷♀️ // Does it worth the hype Hmm..its good but not like “waa ho ho sik!!!” - personally prefer its sister resto @mott32hk more.
