Last week I had this huge lightbulb moment. You know how police officers, firefighters, paramedics talk to persons who are loosing their shit, loosing control, you know those people who see just red and common sense is non existent anymore... to calm those persons they usually talk with a soft voice, very slow paced, they ask questions, almost carefully, avoid giving direct orders, and they give those persons space... Do you know what I’m talking about
Anyways, my lightbulb moment was exactly that: give room, be patient, ask questions, allow him to calm himself, be gentle, talk slow, talk with a soft voice. And that’s what I started doing when my son is throwing one of his intense tantrums. Let me tell you, the outcome is mind blowing. He calms down much quicker, once over it he’s listening, he’s cute and cuddly. I almost feel like he feels peaceful, safe and protected. Not gonna lie though, it takes EVERYTHING to stay calm like that. It’s not easy to avoid snapping and yelling at your kid if they are loosing their shit over a cheerio that accidentally fall on the floor 🤔🤯😂 BUT if i keep my calm, I’m the one who is fully in control of the situation. That’s very rewarding. We are going through one tantrums a day so I basically was able to try out my new tactic about 7 times by now. And it worked every single time!!! [I feel like supermama]

I had an eating disorder. ⠀
It has taken me a very long time to be able to say that.
I said it once when I was 15 and then never wanted to say it again. I didn’t want that to define me in any way and I also wasn’t sure I’d really “done enough” to be labelled that way (which I’m sure a lot of people with disordered eating habits think)⠀
But when I think back to hugging the toilet bowl after binging...⠀
Or crying into a tub of ice cream that I was eating even though I didn’t want to be...⠀
Or putting a pillow over my lap when I’d sit on a couch because I wanted to hide my body...⠀
Or the food journals I kept where I would eat under 1k calories a day...⠀
I can’t deny the truth; I had an eating disorder.⠀
We associate eating disorders with being very underweight but that’s not always the case.⠀
I actually gained weight most of the time.⠀
We associate eating disorders with depression but I was never depressed.⠀
I was actually a very happy teenager! ⠀
We associate eating disorders with a lack of nutrition education or unfit parents but I had (and still have) amazing parents. ⠀
They prioritized healthy eating and regular exercise in our family.⠀
The thing is, eating disorders can happen to anyone and are MUCH MORE common than people realize.⠀
So I’m done avoiding the term “eating disorder; just because I wasn’t the sickest or skinniest or saddest does not change the fact that I hated my body and punished it with food for a long time. ⠀
That eating disorder is so far behind me know. My mindset is so different. The relationship I now have with my body and food is beautiful. ⠀
So no, that ED did not and will never define me.⠀
Eating disorder awareness week was pretty recently and this was on my mind the whole time as I saw woman after woman share her story on social media⠀
but I couldn’t find the words (or the bravery) to speak about it for myself⠀
And then all this past week I kept looking at my daughter and thinking about how I badly I hope she grows up feeling at peace with her body and not at war...⠀
And I realized I have to be brave and open⠀
because that is how she will learn to celebrate and respect her own body.

I LOVE this foundation!! I have been trialing lots of different natural foundations. This foundation is called 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Healthy Foundation- in Peach Bisque (For Medium Skin with warm undertones). It’s a liquid foundation that is semi-matte with full coverage. I generally like it a bit sheer, which is why I use the 100% Pure Powder Foundation, but for the days that I want a little extra cover, this is PERFECT! When I use a little, it still evenly spreads leaving a nice powdered look. You do however, have to work quickly on each area before it dries. It’s great for oily and combo skin, though not so much for dry skin. I’m slightly darker than your average south-asian skin so Peach Bisque really matches my colour!
I’ve tried the 100% Pure 2nd Skin Foundation as well. Although I love the thin, lightweight texture and feel of that foundation, I just couldn’t find the perfect colour match.
The Vapour Beauty Soft Focus Foundation was very easy to apply, but it was very dewy feeling and I rather the dry matte feeling than a shimmery kind of foundation. It was more suited to dry skin. I also couldn’t find a match for my colour as the medium tan was too olive or pink.
Nude By Nature Liquid Foundation… I really wanted to like. I even bought two different sand colours because the first one was a little dark, but then the 2nd one was a too light! My first bottle was so dry, it would flake all over while I was applying on my face. I thought I mustve bought a bad one, but sadly the 2nd bottle was the same! If you can apply it within 5 seconds, then it’s good. Hahaha. My mum likes it because it matches her skin colour.
I love 100% Pure brand so much I realised that I gravitated to trying all their products! My fave things I buy are the powder blush, powder foundation, eyebrow gel, eyeshadows, concealer and lipsticks!

So the last two days have not been great, some of my symptoms have been coming back - mainly my brain fog and headaches, and feeling nausea.
I’m still finding out what works for me through this journey and what doesn’t, been keeping a really close eye on my diet, I’m finding dairy and gluten are essential for me to stop. Which stinks but I’m also seeing that the more I feel crappy the easier it is to cut things out that make me feel that way.
Days like this i miss feeling what my old “normal” was even though I was definitely not healthy by any means but I felt a whole lot better. Mentally this has been draining and through documenting my journey I’m finding more people out there are suffering with the same things I am, which is unfortunate but also nice to have people who understand the struggle.
I just feel so much gratitude for my fiancé I know I’ve said this before but he’s been my biggest supporter through all this. I really didn’t think I could love him anymore than I already do, but through this rollercoaster ride I feel so appreciative for him being in my life and that’s what helps me push myself everyday. Wanting to be better and feel better not only for myself but for the love of my life.

I had a little birthday mission today to run 24 km of new trails along the red deer river valley connecting different city parks (and obviously all the dog parks possible) for my 24 years on this earth.
sunshine, inspiration, excitement of new trails, and just feeling so grateful for this life, my little birthday mission turned into 30kms of blissful running.

It is important to understand the differences between the terms "grief/grieving" and "bereavement". Grief is the psychological-emotional experience following a loss of any kind (relationship, status, job, house, game, income, etc), whereas bereavement is a specific type of grief related to someone dying. These photos express primarily the larger grieving process. •
Throughout the process, we can notice an alteration of the photos to finally arrive to the last stage in which the photo is the closer to reality in colour and texture, so the art falsification is used to show a transformation and an opposite effect which is reconstruction where the grieving person reconstructs their reality.
1. Shock, denial, out of focus, confusion, the person isn't aware of what's happening.
2. Anger: High contrast, red, warm colours, rage.
3. Bargaining: The colour is a bit lighter now, red becomes pink... but a lot of "what if" questions arise.
4. Depression: Feeling blue and seeing the word in shades of blue, sadness, crying.
5. Acceptance: Reality, the world will never be as it was before the pain, acceptance isn't happiness but it's the ability to be able to feel happy about other things and not feel guilty about it, acceptance is peace with what happened, it's a ray of light in the end of the tunnel.

Please read ... . “I first met Andriana in the gym. I mentioned that despite all my years committed in exercising and eating well I just didn’t feel right. I had days where I felt lethargic. I would wake up and my face would look puffy and some days even swollen. My hands and feet would swell and I had days where I looked 5 months pregnant from being bloated.
