In Hawaii, don’t they use aloha for hello and goodbye So, if you’re on the phone with somebody and they won’t stop talking and you say, ok aloha, don’t they just start over again 🌸 #hawaii #honolulu #waikiki #america
We also have the pleasure of hosting Serena “Naiʻa” Michel at this week's #MIAHonolulu! Serena is currently studying English and Pacific Island Studies at #UHManoa. She writes fiction and poetry, and her work seeks to deconstruct Blackness in the Caribbean and in Oceania as well as their diasporas, and how we can come to love and embrace Blackness–to “dream Black love.” Serena’s inspiration for her writing draws from her faith, being an Afro-Latina woman, and her experience as a second-generation Haitian-Dominican from the West Coast. Don't miss seeing her perform during our Fall Showcase, 7-9pm Thursday, Oct. 18 at @TheManifest. #HawaiiPoet #HawaiiWriters #Poetry #Fiction #Honolulu #Hawaii #Aloha #ChinatownHI #PoetryCommunity #SpokenWord #Readings

My first industry was Travel. I absolutely loved adding value to someone's trip whether it was while working at the airports or at the agency helping plan a the vacation. I would reach my commission caps quickly because I was a star agent at only 20 years old. Well 9/11 spat me out of tourism and let me tell you I was devastated to have to choose an alternative career. I dreamt of my own agency/tour company and anything I could think of to excel in Travel. I didnt realize that I would still be able to live out my dreams of travelling and business in a different and much more fulfilling way. There's always a bigger and better plan for you, remember that the next time something doesn't go your way. Aloha from #hawaii #honolulu #waikiki
