Special thanks to @lizkingpearce for telling us about #socktober - the concept is to buy new socks & gift them to a, local to you. shelter. @marieandanson <== .
Colder weather is here & there are many who would truly appreciate the gift of a new pair, or two, of socks. .
Tag a friend, share. Let's get the word out about this great idea. .
Thanks Liz for spreading the word about this GREAT idea. .
A little update from the green mountain state 🏞️ Today was my first day at my new job, at the UVM Morgan horse farm! It's a fully operational, historic Morgan horse breeding farm (so many BABIES 😍💕) super excited learn about stallion management, young horse handling and training, and of course mares and foals... 😌💕 Crunch and I have been riding nearly every day. The farm where he lives is so beautiful and has lots of room to roam and for other fun activities! We're just getting to know the trails, making friends with the boarders and the Middlebury college students, who's equestrian team is based out of the farm as well. So I've been tagging along with their lessons, watching them jump! Crunch and I are building up our riding muscles and working on strengthening his hind end with hill work, and fingers crossed we'll be in good shape for some jumping and foxhunting come spring! The farm is also home to the Green Mountain Hounds, used in foxhunting, and part of my chores includes taking care of the 20 or so foxhounds! It's safe to say I have made many new dog friends. Some hunts are run right here from the farm in New Haven.
In between a whole lot of riding and barn chores, I've been exploring the area and spending time with Kristen and Mark, my dear friends who are housing me currently. It's been so nice to have a warm and safe place to be and rest while I figure things out 😌
I've been visiting streams and friends, horse farms, art and pottery studios, and my new fav co-op, and just over all soaking it all in. The first week or so was a little tense, but now I'm relaxing into the transition, and feeling really good about where I'm at. Missing my family and my Lou, but all in all, life is GOOD. 🙏
